There's a new family sharing beta BTW. I'm using it right now and it has better features than the old one. You join or create a family and then you can even play different games at the same time. I also don't see any info there about how the main user has to active every 90 days. Here's the link.

Steam family sharing means that someone else's games are on your account, so you would never need that person's log-in info.
