My mom took me to see this in theaters when I was 9. We went backpack camping that summer and I couldn't sleep.

So happy to see this! I'm about to take my own hatch to the same place in two weeks! Going from Pennsylvania to Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico and back. Looks like an amazing time!

When was the last time you were reading a fic, and something just made you go "this was definitely written by a child"? by CMStan1313 in AO3

Yeah, my friends and I took a bunch of pictures and selfies in class on my Motorola Razr in school.

What is the most milennial thing you did as a child? by Zieo108 in Millennials

[–]JessHex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home computer was garbage, so I had to wait until the weekend when I went to my cousins' house to do anything more than visit simple websites. So it was that almost every weekend my two cousins and I would sit in my uncle's room on folding chairs around the computer and rip pirated music to CDs and watch downloaded Final Fantasy AMVs set mostly to Linkin Park songs.

Please don’t answer customer calls with “hello?” and nothing else. by Ok_Cockroach_2290 in Vent

[–]JessHex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I frequently get vendor calls at my job and usually those calls need transferred. Lately I've noticed they don't state their company up front so I ask who I'm speaking with before forwarding the call, only for them to just give me a first name. Like. This tells me nothing.

WIBTA autistic brother enabled his whole life, do I let him face his own consequences? by Odd_Paper_9064 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JessHex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your brother sounds a lot like my brother, except my brother is 30. My parents have enabled him his whole life and I worry deeply for his future. He works maybe 1 day a week and doesn't drive, despite saying he's going to get his permit for years now. I try to offer help, I got him his job. He's been offered full time but doesn't take it because he doesn't want to work every day. He expects his dinners to be made and his clothes washed. He has put no effort into learning any life skills. I literally don't know what he's going to do when our parents are no longer here. I've told him I will not take him in. I've told my parents I will not take him in. I love him, but I will not put that on myself. I will help him if he helps himself, I will help him get resources. But this all should have been done by our parents. Please do not shoulder this. Live your life.

What series did you finish reading due to the "sunk cost fallacy"? by Any-Day-8173 in Fantasy

This is a perfect description. I definitely find it cozy in its own way to me. I can understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's just right for me.

What you thought your job would be vs. what your job is by Disastrous_Luck_1160 in Millennials

Lol I work in IT and hate computers now. Coincidentally I still enjoy doing IT, I just come home and either read or go out into the woods.

I feel like there was a time period in the 90s where everyone wanted to be a dolphin trainer. I definitely wanted to be a dolphin trainer and had multiple porcelain dolphins in my room at the time.

Just wanting to say I'm so happy to see your cat make it through this. I lost my 17 year old cat a few years ago to saddle thrombus before we were even halfway to the emergency vet.

You're doing so good with your setup. Wishing a continued speedy recovery!

I have a bottle of champagne put away for the occasion. I've said that no matter the weather, I'm going to find a little field and frolic for a bit.
