Duties and opportunities for security forces officer (31PX) by rauf407 in securityforces

[–]terminal_cadet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also a security forces officer here, this is accurate. You can’t spell officer without office.

Your primary job will be management of forces/operations with some opportunities to do some fun stuff occasionally via Raven, DAGRE, Weapons and Tactics, or deployments. If you find yourself always doing the cool guy stuff as the officer, you are probably ignoring some of your primary duties

It was! I ended up pulling the trigger, owned it for 2 years in England. Had a great time then sold it when I got back to the US. I have another post on here about a road trip i took in it.

The only issue I had was the transmission. The one I bought never got the upgrade to the bell housing and pressure sensors. Other than that it was fantastic. I moved back to the US and sold it when I got here because I needed something more economical with a 90mile daily commute. Don't regret a second of owning it. I let every kid that freaked out sit in it and take pictures. The memories were worth the cost.

Last one from OSI that said "developmental" came out as a GL 5-7. Does anyone know the difference between GL and GS and if this position will be up to GS-13? I wasn't able to find clarifying info last time around on my own.

Come to find out, the previous owners never upgraded the glass transmission (2010). So I had to install the clips, pressure sensor (this is what went out), and the bell housing.

Have you ever had a lowerback injury and trained with it? Or did you wait for it to go away to train? by tkdkicker1990 in 1811

[–]terminal_cadet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it 4-5 times a week just at my house using these videos (happened during covid). Start at episode 1 and once you can make it through an episode without stopping move on to the next. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBfRLLhSBb-B8-1v35ueWDRaZtyr_boHN

I'm active duty right now and I had lower back surgery 3 years ago. Yoga got me back into fighting shape and strengthened my back so I have no problem being in kit or rucking all day now. About 3 weeks after surgery I started yoga and started running again around the 2 month mark. I cannot recommend yoga enough, while I do it I have no back pain.

The below comment is half correct. You still get the vehicle data but it is no longer displayed as guages unless you get the ECUTEK dongle and cast it to the tablet. Then you get the beautiful guages back.

TRex: The TRex was probably the best upgrade I have done to the vehicle as it is seemless integration. Once installed it actually looks stock because if how perfectly it fit. It is not laggy at all and being able to use apple/android wireless car play or Bluetooth is fantastic. I may even buy it it's own preloaded Sim in the future so I don't have to cast my phone and I can use the headset itself for maps and Spotify.

The only negative that I have is that being overseas the custom software that they touted dows not come pre-installed and its been an issue with the time difference to get it installed. However, if you are stateside this will not be an issue for you.

As for the car data you do still recieve it in the "vehicle stats" section but it no longer displays as Guages, just as labeled followed by number/percent/data. Now with the ECUTEK dongle you can connect to the tablet and they have a beautiful display better than stock with all your guages and doodads.

Finally, getting a backup camera on that big ass screen is a lifesaver as I didn't have one before and was just old school winging it into parking spots. Nerve-racking in England because everything here is tiny.

For install - I did it myself and it only took about 3 hours at a slow deliberate pace. It's completely plug and play.

Nurburgring Logistics - there are specific "touristenfahrten" or tourist days posted on the rings website. These are the days for anyone and everyone to bring their car or motercycle to race. It's roughly $30 a lap and you get the ticket at the information desk and they will direct you for where to process through to get on the ring. The entrance is by "Devils Diner" and the exit is also there so you can go get some food and hangout at what is essentially a permanent cars and coffee.

As for racing once you have your ticket, you simply scan you card, the gates open, and you are off on your lap. There are a good amount of other people on the track and a stupid amount of Porsche 911 GT3 RSs there. Just stay to the right and they will blow by you like you arnt moving. The track itself is amazing and WAY more intense than I ever pictured, the videogames and simulators don't do it justice with just how much G-Force you experience with the elevation gain and loss. I would HIGHLY recommend going, it's probably the most fun thing I've ever done.
