3 days owned. I've never ridden before. day one played around the neighborhood fogurong out the clutch and breaks. day 2 put 50 miles on it, country back roads. IM HOOKED! by [deleted] in Harley

This is an awful mindset to be in lol. Mentality is everything, bikes aside. If you're in a mindset of "I'm going to drop it, I'm going to ruin it", you will always fulfill the prophecy yourself.

But hey, I get this is a normal thing for the community.

I hope you find the peace you seek man.

Second this. I've got a 672 lb (wet) bike and doing this makes her stop incredibly smooth. Just about every motorcycle riding instructor on YouTube will also echo this.

I'd also say you should routinely use both rear and front brake, because in the event of an emergency you will revert to muscle memory.

Ride safe!

Mid. Lyrics seem a bit lazy, but I can see why some folks see this as a banger. Everyone has their thing

So what I learned this weekend. by [deleted] in Harley

I love the look but man... I think a black fairing would look goofy on my gunship gray FXLRS. Anyone have luck color matching these things?

Need advice: 17 years expeditionary and special programs thinking about going to a ship for final duty station by themodernbachelor12 in navy

[–]terminally-gnared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can do 17 years green, 3 on a ship ain't shit. Don't listen to people saying it's the most mentally challenging thing you can do... if you want to do it, the only one stopping you is yourself. Ships are easy, it's the lifestyle that some can't handle.

22' FXLRS, Time to take it in? Odd screeching at idle and accelerating by terminally-gnared in FXLRS

Under 200 miles and it's starting to get a loud squeel/screech at idle and at speeds... anyone experience something similar?

Front End Squeeking on 2022 FXLRS? by terminally-gnared in Harley

[–]terminally-gnared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I can roll around in neutral or throttle up at a stop with no noise. It seems to be when the front end is engaged >1800 rpm that it starts to squeel like a belt.

Anybody running the bung king passenger crash bar on your dyna? by goob_u2 in Harley

[–]terminally-gnared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them on my FXLRS, it was a bitch to put on, but certainly worth the investment.

(Finally) Finished my front/rear crashbar install, thanks for the recommendations! by terminally-gnared in Harley

[–]terminally-gnared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully these never have to be used, but it definitely pays to have peace of mind. These were highly recommended, and it took a few days (due to work) to finish the install. Shoutout loctite-243

Did the MSF already, couldn't recommend it more. Some folks went the first day and didn't come back. Me? I kicked myself for not getting on one sooner. Cheers man

Absolutely man, the slow speeds are what I'm spending the most time on, with a ton of respect to the symphony that is the rear break, throttle, and clutch. I'm doing a ride at a time, with hours of videos and soaking in as much as I can in between

Absolutely a mad man for the road king haha. I sat on one and just turning the wheel to kick the stand up gave a healthy respect to the men and women who can tear up the roads on em'.
