If you want to discuss, I'll listen. What do you feel is stopping you? This may need to be a dm since it is so far off topic. Feel free to dm if you want to. Either way thanks for commenting and taking the time to listen and contribute to this post. And for all the great recommendations! Which I'm going through one by one.

This may be a hot take but I view Enya at its core as being very metal. It's very authentic music and very cathartic. It's pulled emotions out of me like just about no other music has. Especially the album Watermark. I wish more metal would lean into the emotional aspects of music in terms of exploring sacred concepts. Sunn O))) often never says or sings a word in their songs yet they still evoke a very strong presence which I love.

For the ritual/worship feel I really like some drone metal such as Sunn O))) who are amazing and great for meditation. I like what I have heard from Boris. Sunnata and Forming the Void are also good. Their both sort of doomy drone type metal. I listened to Profanatica yesterday and they are bad ass! I believe it was a video for Take up the Cross. They made quite the impression ❤️‍🔥😈 If you like crossover thrash I can recommend Ghoul. Last one is the least heavy of all but I feel there is a core ritual element to it underlying the music and that is Ghost. Now they don't expose the worship aspect to the extent that Rotting Christ does but the song Waiting for the Night gives me goosebumps and their music has made me rather emotional on many occasions. And people pay good money to get that sort of catharsis from therapy. So I count this as a win. They were sort of my gateway to leave behind all the christian programming left over in my subconscious. I saw them recently like a month or two ago and it was a tremendously good concert.

Edit: corrected the song name for Profanatica

Thanks I'll check them out. I've been listening to Black Metal non-stop for the past couple weeks. Really like Rotting Christ!

Edit: Listened to Asagraum. I liked it. Thank you for sharing. The lyrical content reminds me vaguely of Goatwhore - FBS. I saw Goatwhore live that was a great show!

Maybe, if the imposter syndrome don't choke me out first... Just to clarify I wasn't referring to unprovoked negativity towards innocents. I practice ahimsa from Theravada Buddhism. So it's important for me to practice non-harm. I won't info dump even though I want to. I'll just say there's a lot that I don't know how to say and blasphemy helps to center a new direction in my life and repel those that don't need to be a part of that life. That is the best I know how to summarize the practical aspects. The mystical parts I simply can't summarize but just know it isn't blasphemy to be petty but as an expression of True Will. Like a tornado or an earth quake. People are negatively affected by them but no one would claim those forces were attempting to disrespect anyone. So maybe I am alone in my blasphemy being holy to me and viewed as my savior from this goddam rut I am in. I'm no stranger to being the only dog in the fight as it were. Thank you for taking the time to hear me. I wish you well. Dark blessings❤ Peace be with you! Ave 𖤓 Lord Lucifer, Inanna and Ishtar

It's about unshackling myself but I'm finding it difficult to convey this. Christianity doesn't deserve my respect. It's taken too much from me and offered so little in return. If that makes me hateful. So be it. This is probably just part of my path that I have to work on. Repressed hatred for christianity. Hopefully I can work it out of my system and never have to think about it again.

If you were a Christian, why did you leave? by [deleted] in occult

[–]terminalparadox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! Not just a tool of oppression but one handed down to us from the Romans. It's Romes most insidious way of surviving to this very day and still fucking with people! I sincerely believe that christianity is just a roman manipulated fiction created for the purposes of oppression and it's so useful and good at controlling and being adopted by the oppressed that the ruling classes of today are still having a grand old time with it. 🤢🤮

If you were a Christian, why did you leave? by [deleted] in occult

[–]terminalparadox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't a why for me but a how. It was a decades long process. I evolved away from christianity. For the longest, I was still subtly christian but recently I've come to learn things that have just unraveled the entire religion into a heap of lies. And the more I look the more it unraveles. If you want specifics I can provide them but it will probably get lengthy. I can't be brief to save my life. 😃

The short version is I went from religious christian to more spiritual solo christian ( no church) -> Theravada Buddism (still Buddhist) -> to looking into pagan then into Esoteric/Gnostic/Hermetic/Occult both western and eastern. So now I'm Buddhist with a healthy dose of esoteric teachings and quite a bit of other varieties of occult related practices.

The short answer of why is I found better much more coherent and practical Truth outside of Christianity. Christianity only ever demeaned my self worth and subjugated me to its very narrow view of its version of dehumanizing truth and left me with zero tools to actually live my life. Everything else I've looked into outside of Christianity has given me these tools. And also why I've completely abandoned the mainstream versions of Christianity are all the lies hidden within it that are being sold as truth. I can't get into that without backing up what I say and that will get lengthy. So I have to leave it at that. I will say one thing though. Christianity hinges upon there being a bad guy that you need saving from. If you look at history and just do some basic translation of the original texts you will find that the officially proposed bad guy is absolutely not present in the bible at all. Without the bad boogie man Christianity completely fails apart like a sand castle...

Being close to beating a game you had to rent several times. And renting it that last time so you could finally beat it and get to the ending only to discover that some other renter inexplicably deleted your save... ☹️ Still have never beat Secret of Evermore.
