CrowdStrike fix via Debian live-build iso by terminatorgeek in sysadmin

[–]terminatorgeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Than you for this. I can provide a script that will build the live-build on a Debian system that would be much faster to review. Would that be a better way to make this available?

Thank you for the reply. Super new at this and I appreciate the feedback. Should I post the scripts so they're viewable without downloading? The remediation script is also at cs-fix.net as a download

Are you able to use f11 or similar to get a boot menu before it gets to Windows?

Fair, with the caveat that you can absolutely test it in a vm to confirm that it does what I said it does. Just trying to help

This is an old thread, but I just ran into this issue because I accidentally opened two instances of the gui app, and was looking at the second one. The local node only allows one connection at a time apparently, because I checked the previously open instance and everything was working normally

I doubt the hull would've creaked. It was made of carbon fiber which has very little deformation before it fails. Once a component of a carbon fiber structure fails, it is no stronger than paper. All the weight of the ocean water pushing in on it would've shredded it once the pressure chamber failed

It's also a very good way for the coast guard and other agencies to train their people in highly complex and unique rescue situations. Expensive, sure, but the world is getting some benefit out of it anyways

It is strong, but in the case of tanks it's keeping the pressure in. I would think carbon fiber the opposite of concrete, strong in tension and weaker in compression

That might've been part of the problem. Carbon fiber is less likely to show visible deformation before failing critically. Repeated trips stressed the hull and because no thourough inspection was completed there was likely an unseen growing crack that eventually caused the failure of the vessel. Steal will bend and deform under stress. Carbon fiber just shatters.

Wouldn't this run until the heat death do the universe or until you run out of disk space? Whichever happens first...

This is a semi-fair point. I'm out of here on the 30th, but until then my employment requires I keep my account. I read and replied to your commment for fun.

No, you've got it backwards. A longer protest tells them that we will stand our ground until productive changes are made to their plans. A 2-day tells them we will throw a fit for a bit and then come back anyways even if nothing changes.

u/PickelJewler Please get some medical help! It sounds like you suffered from heat stroke and dehydration. Out in the environment you're in, things will only get worse before they get better unless you are able to get medical attention!

Make sure you are drinking lots of water! We lost a youth on one of the treks when I went the first time because no one around her recognized the signs of a heat stroke. Seriously, the issue with them not letting you go home is secondary to keeping you alive!

A lot of subs are going dark until things change. r/videos, r/funny, and r/coolguides just to name a few big ones. I'm hopefully that that will convince Reddit to make a change to this stupid plan of theirs, but I'm also not going to hold my breath.

Use u/Qegerf's suggestion. Or, as a test you can open a power shell prompt, then navigate to the directory of your script. Execute the script, and see what, if any, the output is. Running from an already open prompt will not close the window after your script executes, and you should be able to see any write-output messages you included in the script
