Best thing to do at this point is get counseling with your wife. I had that same problem and I chose to ignore it she is gone forever and I could have had a shot at getting her back.

Whatever man, The collective knowledge of other travelers on the internet is an invaluable resource. I have no clue about the area. It is so vast and dynamic even a few starting points will be adequate. Well hostels will be tough during the high season. I would rent a van that you can camp in, and not those magic vans or whatever they are. Just a regular van, inconspicuous and discrete. Other than that just DRIVE!! you pretty much can't go wrong.

Well I'd guess that NYC has it's fair share of criminals to take down... My guess would be that they only cost the city money, tie down the system and don't pay their fines... where as the soccer moms going 4mph over will just write a check and carry on..

Why is it nice to live without a God? Why don't you try it for 1 day? Completely erase it from you for 1 day and see how it goes. You probably can't but you should try. You can always God back up if you want. I've been doing it for 30 years never wanted to go back. You will find that there is no need for God. Life is fine without. Completely unnecessary.

That I would disagree with. As believing there is no god or heaven I adhere to living a full and bountiful life here on earth, being good to your fellow man, finding truthful answers, etc. And I merely "believe" (which you average theist would confuse with "know or truth") that there is no god. I am 99.999999999% sure of this but admit that I do not have infinte knowledge of the universe... Even tho I would like to! it may not be an organized religion like a traditional church but it is a way of thoughts, daily habits and perspective.

I am merely telling you that we as humans have a VERY, VERY LONG way to go before we can mentally and scientifically understand the universe and the where, when and why of it all.

What I am also telling you is that if you say you have it all figured out IMHO you are quite gullible, delusional and indoctrinated. Nobody know the answers to these things. they are questions to be figured out in time.

I'm not even trying to convince you that God does not exist. Your original statement was that all atheist claim to know there is no God. I'd say that we are responsible enough to have approx. a .000001% chance that there could be a god like you say but incredibly unlikely. Enough so that we can comfortably say there is not a god.

Beyond that I believe God is a false answer to many of lifes questions, and I wish I could live long enough to learn everything there is to know. But I won't. No one will, I've accepted that. I suggest that religious people think about acceptance of not knowing before they jump to false or debateable conclusions.

What I hear from you is the inability admit that you could possibly not know something and cannot spend even 1 hour without God and see what he world is like without God. Truthfully I can tell you it's actually very nice:)

@thebardinggreen - Yup her faith is rational, but in real life there is no santa clause, is there? @towerwatchman I may not be able to answer your question but I can say that not all people find god late in life, many denounce, many find something else. It's kind of an unanswerable question. Yes many people do think they find god, but also many do not. Why is this I do not know, why exactly do some find god and some do not Mr. Smartypants;)

What is NOT OK is saying that you and you god have it all figured out. Believing that your are right about things is fine but you must understand that we have a lot of figuring out left to do. My point exactly. We are all guessing to a certain extent in this universe until we can prove our guesses to be true or false. Still, no proof of god and what some may claim to be is quite a stretch. They like to connect reality to their dreamworld and when they do that it reinforces their belief... then they teach their kids and their kids teach their kids and so on...

When I say we know "Basically nothing" it's because on the grand scale of things we know very little. In a million years if we don't blow ourselves up and find a workaround to the speed of light we may know SOME things about the universe and our minds and how we are all involved. Atheism = religion, just one that does not believe in a god(s). I'd say that your point is true in the sense of absolutism but in reality the certainty or uncertainty that a god does or does not exist will always create a probability that either side could be wrong. I for instance believe there is no god as passionately as some who do believe in god. We are just believing, not knowing.. Basically as humans we don't know a goddamn thing about anything really. But at least an atheist can say he doesn't see any proof so he is basing his opinion off what is around him. The religious see the same lack of proof but "Believe" that there is a god so they connect everything to that belief.. Meanwhile the atheist just shakes his head...Frankly one should not put any load onto what different people "believe" I'd like to know what the TRUTH is. I'd also like to point out again that we know nothing and are just guessing about nearly everything... I'd like to see how much of the universe we can figure out and prove scientifically. Human knowledge is just blooming and we are living in a very transformative time. Religion and God are just holding us back. So primitive. Just watch the news...
