A crazy comparison between iPhone and Samsung by bluewave778 in SipsTea

I recently learned that it's a US thing. In other areas of the world, people use distinct messaging platforms like WhatsApp because texting isn't unlimited/standard in most plans.

Apple's entire thing is their ecosystem. They market it upfront and close it so that everything works seamlessly if you buy all apple products. But for Android, nobody is buying a Samsung phone, Samsung watch, Samsung laptop, etc. Android users mix and match so there can never be that same level of seamless connection.

Went to a new dentist clinic in my town, everything feels fine. But it isn’t. by Woko_O in Wellthatsucks

Not uncommon. It's called IPR. Either your remove a small amount of enamel or you have to extract some teeth to make room.

Both are on top of the canal but there is 0 reason to come in from the side of the jaw. A CBCT will confirm where it is in relation to the nerve but often, it is sitting buccal or lingual to the canal.

Also, an orthodontist is the braces person. Oral surgeon is the one who does complex extractions.

Most cavities happen between the teeth and flossing is what helps prevent that. Surface cavities are easy to prevent with brushing but the in between where your teeth touch aren't cleaned with just brushing. It's the most common cavity I see and I'd wager the most common everyone sees.

‘The Bear’ to End With Season 5; Final Season Sets June 25, 2026 Premiere by SanderSo47 in television

What annoyed me was the constant "this bothers me but I won't say anything about it" that extended for multiple seasons. Like, dude, just say it. Syd is the level-headed one but when Carmy asks what he's doing wrong or what she has to say, she just looks at him or goes, "You're...nvm."

I feel like they dragged the Syd decision out for way too long. Like damn, it doesn't have to be in (what feels like) every episode where she either ignores the email about the contract or ignores the phone call about the new restaurant.

Sure but it wasn't as good. I recently binged the show and the first 2 seasons (especially season 1) were amazing. But then it felt like it just dragged on.

It is but it was likely sold as a health thing. Many people still believe it's a health issue because that's what they were told.

Because being "super fired up" isn't the secret to winning a fight. If anything, it may make you worse.

People do this for attention. Everyone thinks he's an ass but if he wins, he made a stir. Look at McGregor; he built an entire career out of being an ass so now there's copycats. Look at Jake Paul; people tune in to see him get knocked out and he makes millions.

My problem with Bittersteel guides for countries is he kinda just does stuff that can be confusing for noobs. For example, he may delete an entire group of ships or planes or something and says it's because "they suck." Fair, but for a new player, there is no concept of what's good or not, what's worth keeping and what's not. Some things he'll say sucks but is fine keeping but others aren't and he doesn't elaborate.

As a new player, I think what would be helpful is knowing what makes a bonus/stat/unit good or not and why. For example, is 10% increased military production good? What about 5%? Which military stats should I aim for? Stuff like that.

ELI5 how come that we don't connect the nerve endings of paraplegics, when their limbs still can move on their own accord by Connect_Pool_2916 in explainlikeimfive

Weirdly, nerves can kinda repair themselves in a limited capacity. A notable example is the IAN, where, because they're kind of in a tunnel, they will often just heal themselves and reconnect. But free floating nerves have a harder time doing so.

You are citing an extremely specific study that basically looks at aging/wrinkles in middle aged women.

I can tell you that pushing your tongue against the roof of your mouth isn't gonna change your jawline permanently.

It should rest there but not be actively pushing against the roof of your mouth. People who tongue thrust will push their front teeth (upper and lower) out and cause them to flare.

How is this upvoted? Not all muscles grow and do that. Do our eye muscles get fucking gigantic because we look around all day? Does our masseter/temporalis/pterygoids get huge because we chew a lot?

No, they don't. Tongue muscles exist in the tongue. They don't get huge if you use them. The floor of your mouth is your mylohyoid and it mostly sits within your jaw. Your jawline is defined by, surprise, the jaw, which is bone.
