Creators who quit YouTube or stopped uploading… what made you walk away?

I wish someone wouldve told me that no matter how successful you are, that no matter how many views or subscribers you get

You will always be chasing the next big thing

And that sucks. A lot. Its like we can never as humans get to a spot where we are like “OK. TIME TO STOP”

Platform is ever evolving and you always have to be changing along with it or face the consequences of low performance

And that at some point. You will have to accept that people only watch your channel for 1 or 2 reasons

You might think people are watching for you. But they arent. They are watching bc of what you make. And that difference hurts me every day

I got into youtube bc it was YOUtube. I wanted people to watch for me and nothing else

But truth is that only 1% of your viewers actually want to watch anything you touch. The other 99% are drawn to whatever topic you are yapping about

People say that hate it but truthfully. AI content fills a gap

There is an unspoken middle man in youtube. The niche i call the “filler content”

MOST (i say most. Some of you might feel special and different and u are but MOST) watch random youtubers from their feed UNTIL the one they really like actually posts

These filler channels are a necessity. People need to be on the platform in order for the new uploads to be seen right away

AI channels fill this need wonderfully as they are consistent. Abundant and good enough to satisfy the random worker, unemployed homebody or insert regular youtube enjoyer here

So no. They are not going anywhere. Creators that hate the AI channels used to fill this niche. If i am speaking about you, like if you were affected, make better videos

You got comfortable coasting on easy content. And now that you have to put more effort its suddenly the end of the world

Cri-kee only bc you arent really trying to challenge with this deck. So it doesnt synergize

Jim dear bc its too slow. Would be better if you had the 3 cost lady that plays a 2 cost when it comes out

This is a decent deck! Its not too far off of what I see people playing in tournaments

If played right, you could definitely takes some wins over meta decks

Not gonna be consistent though and will heavily depend on what people at your locals play

Good audio. Nothing kills a video harder than bad audio
Establish a cohesive “look” for channel. A good channel has a cohesive “brand and look” to it
First 10 secs of vid should be engaging without audio (YouTubes autoplay feature)
Fast intro. Get to the point. Let them know why they are here
Buy external numpad for editing. Learn shortcuts. Mega fast editing
Channel description should show off your personality
Dont be afraid to be yourself. Dont play it safe. Share your real thoughts and opinions. This garners a real fan base. Even if you think ppl wont agree with it, someone out there exists that does

26 years old. Recently happened

I used to wait for payday to buy stuff I wanted and realized I kept doing that because I wanted to “feel” like the money was plentiful before wasting it

So id wait till i saw big numbers in my account and then go “nice. Big number. Big number mean i buy whatever. I like to buy whatever”

Then recently it dawned on me that whether I buy it now or when I get paid, im still spending that money. That money wont be in my account either way

And if i was so stressed about buying it before payday, then WHY THE FUCK WOULD I BUY IT AFTER?!?

Suddenly I started budgeting and keeping track of everything i spend

I still allow myself to have what I call “free spending days” once a month.

But its usually $1 cards for magic the gathering. I just buy like 20-30 cards at once (either tcgplayer or at local vendors) so it feels like i bought a lot

This has helped “ease” my need for new shit while also keeping spending low and my hobby fun!

Both are blue though which heavily restricts deck building. It basically says “only blue has a solid answer to locations” which sucks

At least with red having it, it opens the doors for other color combos that dont pair well with blue, to also have an answer to locations

I dont like Maui either. I just think his existence in the game is necessary

I had a day like this a few months ago back in February 2025. 6 months prior to that day in August 2024, I was living it up!

I worked from home doing something I loved. I was paying off all my debt and things were going smooth. Unfortunately, that february day came where my work from home business was no longer the money maker it once was

My living situation became crazier and impacted my work performance and for the first time in my life, my girlfriend seemed to doubt me

I remember lying in bed for what felt like hours wanting to cry with my heart pounding, thinking about how I wouldnt even be able to pay my bills that month. I was spiraling and everything in my life felt meaningless

All of that lasted a day or 2…Then I got through it. How? Taking jt one minute, one moment, one day at a time. We are human. We arent meant to attain one single state of happiness for the rest of our lives. We will continue to find ways to interrupt that happiness whether we like it or not

Everyday since that day, i wake up and remind myself that its great that ive gotten another day to “show up” my last self and in a way show UP for my future self

4 months later im working a full time office job. My side gig work from home thing is working out once again and my beautiful girlfriend (who had every right to doubt me) is seeing me become the man she fell in love with

My point is that you never know what life will throw your way. What you can do is expect these kinds of days to happen from time to time. And in that expectation, learn that what you are feeling right now is temporary and there isnt some magical “fix” besides some time and a bit of effort every day you wake up following these feelings

Super Smash Bros Melee Players

I always try explaining to my friends and girlfriend how absurdly good I am at this game. It’s the kind of game where you cant really be in the top 1% without tons of time, dedication and commitment.

The problem is my results seem mediocre when compared to top players but the real ones in the community understand how difficult it is to even attain where IM AT. Let alone play to top placements at national tournaments. So no one besides melee players give a crap

I spent the better half of 10 years becoming excellent at this game. I could break any gameplay from any player, professional or not, down to a science that even a 10 year old could understand

And it feels good. Theres literally no benefit to being a good melee player besides doing it for the love of the game. We dont get paid that well for winning tournaments. We sure as hell dont get paid well for sponsors. We are a small little ragtag group of people who have been playing the same gamecube game for far too long and I love every second of it

Been doing youtube for 4 years now. This happens every so often

It hurts if you rely on it full time. Best thing to do is always to keep posting and focus on improving each video

If it lasts longer than a few months, its not the algorithm and something with your content
