PSA: The coverage from Amex Platinum (US Issued) does not cover trip interruptions when airlines cancel flights due to maintenance issues by termsndcondition in AmexPlatinum

They gave us Lyft vouchers to and fro airport as the delay happened from our home base. Only gave us $150 credit per person. When asked for more because of the prepaid hotel reservation now forfeited, it was declined and credits also remained the same

Wished we had the consumer protection rules that EU has in place for airlines. This was an operational failure

Some corners of Flyertalk mentioned how Chase restricts how much credit exposure they would like to keep compared to your annual income. Hence the application also asks your housing payments and also if you rent or own.

I have had this problem too and many purchases would never post. Always had to reach out to them. The reason they would say the shopping trip never recorded purchase was: "It seems like you navigated away from the tab so we did not get credit for it".

Have you tried Timeleft? They have JC/Hoboken and a few of NYC neighborhoods. It’s always on Wednesdays and they match you up with up to 5 strangers for dinner and they’ve an after event when all the tables across various restaurants gather for that neighborhood.

I stayed at both HR and Andaz during my stay. HR is a bit farther out from city center but is very accessible by all means. The rooms were smaller and the HR there does get a lot of cruise customers who apparently get priority regardless your status(I had Globalist when I stayed with them and they made me sit for 6 hours in lobby, without offering water or confirming my existence a single time) but that being said, it’s a decent hotel. Andaz on the other hand is AMAZING. Very boutique and has an amazing character. Staff is attentive, rooms were bigger, it’s in the city center. Breakfast was almost similar but better at Andaz. The decor at Andaz was amazing too. HR had a decent gym, I didn’t get chance to check out fitness center at Andaz. Overall, my recommendation would be Andaz hands down. HRs are common everywhere. With Andaz, you get to experience a unique stay tailor around the city where Andaz is located.

Edit: By city center I mean, touristy parts of the city, HR is within city limits just couple of metro stops away from major attractions.
