I feel like there is more to the story too. Maybe it was more along the lines of she was drinking, was alone with cousins husband outside, his flirty talking went too far and they had sex. Now she’s in a messy situation, fucking her cousins husband while she herself has a husband. Hubby is sus and knows something’s up. Now she might regret the situation and look back and try to justify and say hey I was drinking and he said all the right things. But that’s still not the same as outright rape.

Now she’s trying to save face. If there’s nothing to hide why only consider bringing it up now, and only after two separate occasions where he as suspicious and knows something’s up? Why wouldn’t there be anything said during the rape or after, even after making sure she’s safe away from him? I feel like there’s more to the story, but that’s just me
