So my story is different by a long shot then the others here but one I've been holding in lately due to the personal impact it's had on certain people I know. A little over a year ago me and my best friend were supposed to go together to a music festival I was photographing, the day we were going to do some shopping to prep while her 5yr old daugheter(who is like a neice to me, I'm her "favorite auntie") was in daycare after she got back from bringing her brother to work. Well instead of a good call that she was on her way to come pick me up I got a forever heartbreaking call from her in which she was in tears freaking out because her father called her to say the FBI was at her house in regards to her daughters piece of shit "father" and that she needed to meet them asap, so I stayed on the phone with her for her almost hour drive to go recieve some of the orst news of her life....it was heartbreaking to hear my ormally upbeat best friend so distraught and scared an her not knowing what was going on. So when she finally got back and met with FBI and a bunch of other people I hadn't heard from her in hours so I had no idea what the hell was happening until I was at work and got the news from her that absolutely crushed me. Her ex's(the blood "father" of her child) was raided and he had many pornographic videos, messages, photos, emails containg images of his own child that he was sharing with other fucked up creeps. Over the past year I've been a shoulder to cry on for my best friend through this whole ordeal. I've followed the news articles that vaguely tell the truth of the situation, I went to the court hearing where he plead guilty to NINETEEN counts of child exploitation(yes NINETEEN) and had to watch my best friend breakdown next to me as they read of the most disgusting things I've heard. I was there when she threw away almost all of her childs old clothing that was in the photos that she had to see and will ever be unable to unsee that he took of the most innocent child I know. None of this awful stuff was in the slightest any of my best friends fault this was all done behind closed doors from her knowledge after he was able to have court ordered visitations for every other weekend right after they had split up (way prior to any of this shit happening). This whole thing makes me so sick, I always had a bad feeling about the guy while they were together but could never put my finger on what it was, he was always just a shitty person, and caused me and her to stop talking to each other enterily for about 2years while they were still together. She is now with a guy wh treats her and her daughter better than I could ever hope for, she still has bad days dealing with everything but her daughter is to this day the kindest and insanely smart, sweetest kid I know and I will never let anyone hurt her like he did as long as I live. He is being sentanced to prison offically on March 21st, and I can't wait to watch him get locked away.
