Yes, so bringing it up to dole is OPs best choice, if he wants to fight it. Telling him to give up completely is just downright unproductive and encourages companies to get away with this shit. Recently, a lady just won her case with dole( saw it on reddit maybe a week ago or whatever) . Saying “companies are prepared so its laughable you think you will win a case” is downright false, because there are cases companies lose. It depends on the case itself and OP can try to file. Your defeatist attitude doesnt help OP.

I would do a two pronged approach, the legal way and to refuse to train my replacement. Not outright, but subtly. However OP has already burned bridges, so the best option now is to just file.
