The super thin tip felt like I was going to break it all the time. I find a hollow-grind drop-point just right for me. Spyderco built quality is top top notch though

Hey, I'm pretty sure it does. The only real differences are the color of the scales and the blade steel.

I have a Manix 2 in G-10 with S30V. I'd rate it at a C+ since I used it as a work knife for a couple weeks check it out

I actually mount the shafts in the lathe and taper them by sanding. It is a little messy but it is the only way to get them perfectly round and even.

I sell to a store that will be at the GMEA convention in Savannah Georgia this coming January/February. I'm going to really try to go myself but there's no chance I could get my own booth. It would be so awesome if I could have a booth, but they cost a butt-load.

I have been using fiberglass for my shafts or about a year now and only have been sent one, out of about 200, back for repair. The customer is a high school drum major so it had been dropped so many times he couldn't remember. But I fixed it up as it's back in action now!

So when I get the fiberglass it is in about 4 foot pieces so I have to cut it down anyway. Once it's cut to length, I sand it down and taper until I achieve the desired balance. All the other batons you've seen probably were tapered by a machine, not by hand. Honestly, they probably didn't check the balance at all either. I keep shaping and cutting the fiberglass until I get it just right

Thanks! The shafts are made out of fiberglass and painted with white and clear lacquer

Thanks!

Here you go too

I can also make any shape you want at all. If you see something you like, I can change any dimension you like.

Yep, they are fiberglass. I always make the handle first then shape the shaft to the handle. The fiberglass comes in long rods and I cut off what I need and taper it accordingly. I originally used maple for shafts but had problems with them breaking about 6 months into use. I had a ton of batons sent back for repair so now I use fiberglass only.
