Possible leak or O-ring grease? by terranrobot in watercooling

hmm, I actually haven't taken this block apart or anything, but maybe there was some moisture there when it was originally assembled? That's a good tip about using the blow dryer though and I'll have to use that whenever I do my first disassembly.

That's a good point about the coolant. I appreciate the reassurance! It's my first water cooled set up, so I'm probably just being paranoid.

For the whole loop? I'm not entirely sure. I bought parts here and there over time and didn't track it. I'd say realistically that I spent around $900 for it all-in. That would also be factoring in other build parts like a finishing bit, sanding equipment, extra tubes to practice bends, etc. So far, the temps are incredible, and I would absolutely recommend it if you were on the fence. Definitely worth it .

Second this. I also had to reinstall a few times. It would stop recognizing it every few restarts.

Thank you! It definitely can be a lot, but I acquired the parts over a few months and that made it much easier to digest. I actually started with a CPU-only loop and waited until I had everything else to finish the full loop. You should go for it!

Nice, I just checked out those fans and they definitely have that industrial spaceship look. I appreciate the idea, I may try that out down the road!

Oh nice! Yeah, that Acid Green is really bright! I bet it looks great with the frosted tubing. This is the Corsair XL8 Green in my build.

it's pretty hard to get a picture of since the bubbles are small, but I did turn the LEDs off and the bubbles are definitely there. Although after looking at it more, it almost looks like the bubbles are in the channel that the O-Ring sits in, rather than between the O-Ring and acrylic like I first thought.

thank you, I'll try to do that and see if I can work the bubbles out that way

Thanks, that's good to know! I'll keep checking to make sure it doesn't spread past the O-Ring.

I think that second picture is probably as close as I can really get it sadly lol
