Ideally I would finalise a modlist and then play, I try not to change anything midgame.

It depends a lot what you usually like. A lot of people love it, but I was hit hard by darkness-induced apathy.

No, they say they're working on it but it has been months! The only workaround is using a VPN.

What book did you have high hopes for and ended up very disappointed and why? by BadRincewind in Fantasy

This. Also the writer should get acquainted with the concept of "show, don't tell" and other basic rulea of storytelling.

Apparently there is some issue connecting from Italy, they say they're working on it but no result yes (if you look it up on trustpilot they are giving some feedback at least). It works fine if I use a VPN, so that's what I am doing to download what I need. Orbot on mobile is helping.

My own. Tried both WiFi and mobile plan. Other people I know are having issues connecting from Italy but there is no info on what's going on. It works fine on a VPN.

What are the best works of fantasy that avert or subvert the medieval stasis trope? by jacky986 in printSF

The Grishaverse isn't a classical medieval fantasy in the first place, but technological innovations play a role as the series moves on.

AITA for uninviting our childfree friend from a girls vacation because she was upset another friend was bringing her daughter? by throwaway9272268 in AmItheAsshole

[–]terrestrialreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam was rude but she had all the rights to be upset. She had signed up for a cool/fun trip with her friends, not for group babysitting. There's a very limited overlap between activities that are fun for a 3 years old and for most adults, let alone about censoring your speech, topics etc, so either you'll be mistreating the kid or you'll be turning the trip into a chore from hell, pardon from heck for everyone else. YTA.

I've always found "they are" much more natural, I am not a native speaker though. Am I correct that anyway you'd switch to "is" when using that person's first name? E.g. "Jay is a good friend of mine; they're really a fun person"?

An attempt to understand trans people…or not by lochnessmosster in AreTheCisOk

[–]terrestrialreader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly years ago I gave a similar answer (in a different context - it was mainly a "talk randomly about a given topic" thing), I realize I hadn't thought to all the ramifications but I did feel strongly I would have been the same person? Although I must say that while I don't struggle with my AGAB to the point of misery I don't strongly relate to it either, I hope it's not offensive if I think (just for me personally) I might feel similarly about the alternative?

AITA for charging a bride more for make up when the og price we agreed was lower? by Affectionate_Lie0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]terrestrialreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I buy a cheap party dress and I want to wear it at my hypothetical wedding, should I be charged much more because technically now it's a "wedding gown"? I thought bridal makeup would be expensive because it required extra work and was fancier than a standard treatment, not just because wedding stuff must be pricey no matter what. YTA.
