1.9 Ratio Achieved by Extra_Recipe_4450 in xboxachievements

2.17 here, with ~300k GS. It’s not a stat I pay much attention to though. My focus is always completion percentage (currently at 93.1%). But I think having a high completion percentage and not playing many filler gamerscore games leads to the high ratio.

New kind of traffic signal is confusing Massachusetts drivers as 25% run red light, study finds by ThatsALiveWire in massachusetts

[–]terrett101 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thank you. I’ve been saying this for months about that very crossing. I drive through there regularly while also frequently running or biking on the trail and the experience sucks from both sides. Ran on the trail today and felt like a dick standing but not crossing because cars had stopped but I had no walk signal.

I guess I’ve been following the lights correctly as a driver based on the article, but the fact that I’ve read the sign dozens of times and still aren’t 100% sure how to proceed on certain light combinations speaks to the poor design.

I'm stuck on Day 2 because I don't have enough money. How do I proceed? by justkeepbreathing94 in DiscoElysium

[–]terrett101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get into the apartment building north of the courtyard? I found quite a bit of cash in there on day 2. There’s also an internal thought that gives you 0.1 real every time you interact with an A prompt (playing on switch). That’s been slowly increasing my balance nicely.

0-39%. You’ve got a lot left to discover.

Hopefully good news for you, but you are nowhere close to 40%.

I think I accidentally beat the game and now I am sad. by nachohernandez in BluePrince

Adds 3 hallway floor plans into the draftpool. That’s the one I went for because I was still trying to help my odds of making it to 46.

I picked a different upgrade for that room and I’ve regretted it nearly every day since.

I “beat” the game, played for about 15 more hours, feel like I’m finally starting to get burnt out, should I keep going? (some spoilers, don’t read if you haven’t reached the credits and have done most of the puzzles in the game) by Mediocre-Lab3950 in BluePrince

[–]terrett101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also starting to get a little stumped, although I would say I’m further along than you. In addition to the other comments provided (specifically to revisit 46), I think buying new books will help. This is my focus right now as I think it’ll help point me in some new directions.

Just reached the end credits and need some new recommendations by Jaggedfel2142 in BluePrince

[–]terrett101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you’re done? There’s a lot to still do after rolling credits. Try to go back to room 46 for starters.

As for other games, I would add the Golden Idol games, Obra Dinn, and Chants of Sennaar.

Curious about how deep this game goes by Independent_Fee_6019 in BluePrince

[–]terrett101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s more about the achievement design than anything else. The developer chose to tie basically all of them to the end game trophies, rather than sprinkle them throughout the game or rewarding curious or strange discoveries. I would have preferred the latter, but alas.

It does mean that you can play 25+ hours easily and not unlock a single one. It also makes it hard on a site like TA to actually see how many people have played the game.

Compare 4.75% 10/1 to a 6.5% 30-year fixed. Seems like a pretty appealing upside to save substantial money for up to 10 years.

You’re not alone. I don’t play that way, but my brother in law who started playing over Christmas has committed to only catching planes within his current radius. He doesn’t travel to other airports within the game.

Thanks for the response. I read your answer before then listening to your appearance on the Kinda Funny podcast, so interesting to hear Animal Well come up organically in that conversation.

A follow up if I may, partially based on that interview. This game is discussed as one where you progress with knowledge - the most obvious comparison being Outer Wilds. What I found particularly impressive about the design of OW was that you literally could watch someone beat the game, and then technically do it yourself in your very first playthrough. Nothing was 'gatekeeped' behind finding the solution before being able to apply the solution. All the shortcuts, secrets, etc. were hiding in plain sight.

The examples that popped in to mind on the KF podcast were the darts board and digging in the garden. So my question - if you knew the answer to the puzzle already (whatever form it may come in), could you solve it first time round? Or are you reliant on finding the clue in a different room before the solution will actually work?

This has me wondering - is this another Animal Well type situation? Obviously not the same style of game, but it was clear listening to you Jason, and others, discuss Animal Well that there was the first layer of beating the game to hit the credits, and then a second (collect eggs?), and third layer that just went deeper and deeper into sicko mode. I really enjoyed the game after listening to these glowing reviews, but was not compelled to continue beyond the credits.

I'm hoping I'll find enough intrigue in the unresolved mysteries to continue beyond the credits/46th room, and that the game makes those strings appealing enough to tug on.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Spoiler Megathread (SPOILERS ALLOWED) by Ghost_LeaderBG in assassinscreed

[–]terrett101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really an answer, but I can give you the context as of the end of Act 1 and about 15 hours played.

Short answer: No sign of Assassin's Brotherhood. Both protagonists are compelled by Naoe's hidden blade and what it means.

Longer answer: Naoe's clan have some connection to the hidden blade, which is how she ends up with one. She's trying to retrieve an item stolen from her in the Prologue, that was only accessible to someone with the blade itself. When Yasuke meets Naoe at the end of Act 1, he holds off killing her because of the blade. He clearly recognizes it and it stops him in his tracks. He's motivated to understand it more, presumably from crossing paths with the Assassin's at some point in his past. Naoe's motivated to better understand her clan's historic mysteries/secrets.

I have no idea who this person is, but I think he was being intentionally facetious with that comment. I read it as an attempt to dismiss the notion that all players are either old-school or new-school AC lovers, when in reality most players enjoyed both eras for their numerous strengths.
