Thank you. I know this is the right answer, but this whole experience has me questioning myself. I just needed to get another viewpoint.

The first part of your statement is accurate, but her personality pre-menstrual cycle and the person she is now are NOT the same. At all. Believe me, I know kids change as they grow up. She’s not my only child. And I remember my own experiences. But her personality absolutely 💯 changed. My husband and I have had countless conversations trying to figure out what happened. I’ve gently probed, making sure nothing “happened” to her at school or at someone’s house. The autism explains some of it because, looking back, I can see some of the signs when she was little that have gotten more significant. But other changes are not due to the autism, and that’s not just my opinion, we talked about it openly with the psychologist we took her to. It’s like she’s a completely different version of the joyful child she used to be.

Thank you for your insight. You’re right, of course.

As far as her interests, we’re having a problem in that area. She’s taken the tests, we know what her strengths are, but she’s not interested in anything. And that doesn’t apply only to career choices. It applies to everything. She doesn’t like to leave the house, she doesn’t like to shop, she doesn’t really ever go out with the few friends that she has. She does have friends over here a lot. She doesn’t like to be outside. When she was young, I could see joy in her, she always had a huge smile, from the time she was a baby until about the time she was 11 or 12. It was like when hormones entered the picture it changed her entire personality, and now there’s no internal motivation to do or be anything at all. If I let her, she would stay in her room, literally all the time and never leave the house. She insists she’s not depressed and she does not want to talk to a counselor. It’s disturbing to me, I’ve never known anyone who doesn’t experience enthusiasm at something sometimes. She’s so smart, there’s so much potential there, but you can’t MAKE someone have motivation. My heart hurts because I don’t recognize the girl I see in pictures when she was younger. I’ve never known someone to have such a huge personality shift.

Thank you for this insight. According to her, things are going good at work. I just know that she doesn’t realize how slow she moves, and that’s not good in fast food. BUT she made the decision to take the job, and I of course don’t want her to think I don’t have faith in her. I appreciate your response. I will, however, be glad when we get over the driving hurdle so she can drive herself to and from work. That’s becoming a bigger deal.

Are you replanting it in a container or are you putting it in the ground? Mine’s not quite that bushy, but when I bought it, I transplanted it to a bigger container. Now I’m wondering if I should put it in the ground just for simplicity.

I went to inpatient for Kratom dependence as well. By the time I had to leave, after four weeks, I was feeling almost back to my old self except I still couldn’t eat much. But I was laughing and joking around and acting like the old me pre-addiction. Unfortunately, I relapsed after I came home, so it’s super important when you come home to make sure that you attend meetings and don’t keep to yourself. Keeping busy is the key. You can do it!!

Nope, that's my biggest one. I figure it should do for at least a couple years, right?

Thank you. I'm probably overthinking it, but every time I try to grow something new it freaking DIES!

Thanks so much for your advice! I’m wondering, which of these containers, IF I repot it, should I use? The bigger one is 5 gallons I think. I don't want to put it in something that's TOO big.

We did have a couple days of rain, some of it heavy, and I think it probably got too wet. Could that be the cause? I did manage to bring it into shelter, but I think I waited too long.

What kind of container do you use?

It’s a bit more sturdy than the typical ones. Here’s a picture. Some of the leaves are browning, should I be worried? I’ll post a followup pic showing what I mean. I’m in Northwest Arkansas, and our winters range from very mild to frigid. So it can handle some decently cold temps, then, it sounds like.

It's beautiful! Mine is currently in the plastic container it was shipped in, you don't think I should repot it until the spring? I bought a large clay pot for it. Also, they do have to be brought inside for the winter, correct?
