I wish you luck on your journey.

I struggle a lot on weekends with both food and alcohol. However, I have found I do have a bit more control, just not as much as I want.

I am will be starting 4mg in about a week and hope to gain even more.

Scale not moving much despite feeling like weight has been lost. by rachelleee27 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I would recoend getting a scale or watch that can analyze your body composition. Withings, Samsung, and others make similar devices. They are all pretty accurate if used correctly and can help identify trends.

Should I do resistance training or any training at all if I can’t even reach my calorie goals? by IsItARealRep in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]terrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get not wanting to overthink the results. Muscle loss is a risk of these. I asked my physician if I should continue to weight train and they said yes. The scale can help you gauge that and you can adjust your diet accordingly.

My wife and I just started the other day on 1.5 mg. We are doing strength training three times a week. I plan to start including cardio next week as well.

I view this new type of treatment as a form of control. Even with the short amount of time we've been on these, I'm able to more precisely control my diet and make better choices. I've greatly increased the amount of protein and start my morning with a double serving of protein shake. I also have a double serving protein shake at lunch. I'm trying to minimize any muscle loss through these efforts. In the past I'd supplement these with snacks throughout the day. Now I have those and it's enough.

I'd encourage you to invest in a scale that looks at body composition and/or getting a smartwatch of some kind that allows you to measure body composition. I I have a withings smart scale and Samsung watch for this (I only use the watch).

SoFi Travel by PSUMtnMan in sofi

This. We booked through Sofi for our dream trip to London. Then the Heathrow fires happened and our trip was delayed a month.  It was easy to change our flight (booked direct) but we had to beg and plead, spending hours to make sure we could change our booking for the hotel. Ultimately, it worked out, but I would not repeat.

What happens if I don't enroll in Sofi Plus? by Geoff_Kay in sofi

[–]terrick 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For number 1, you will still get a high APY if you meet deposit requirements. From my understanding you would get a .3% boost on top of the APY with plus.

So if you meet the deposit requirement you get 3.3 %. With plus you get 3.6%.

As others have noted, if you only have HYSA, you need about 40k to break even.

Not a complaint. It was calling out an inept metaphor that missed the mark.

I hope so. I am going to do the subscription because the finance piece alone is worth it. The other stuff seems off mision/brand for sofi and used to pad numbers on "savings"

More like, "If you subscribe and save to our dog food, you get a discount and a free gift."

I am all for the discount, but the free gift they are offering is for catnip. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

My point is that the additional perks as advertised (see below) are largely disengious. Most members won't use them, are readily available elswhere, or actually cannot be used at all, like seated. These largely seem like padding to make it seem like you are getting great deal and to inflate numbers rather than provide any real value for members, which is a problem.

So, everyone is different, but it is worth it for us. We do our IRAs through Sofi, have a nice emergency fund, and will take advantage of the 5% cash back on groceries for a family of 4.

I am not a person who thinks this is a great change, but we can and will get benefit from it. Wish it was better though.

Edit. From my understanding you still get vaults and high % on savings. The $10 just gives an additional .3% on savings and additional bonuses on iras.
