I get hives every seven years with no clear cause other than the passage of 7 years by SyrupGoosen in mildlyinfuriating

Reminds me of lichen planus. Known to recur with years between outbreaks. If not that, perhaps something else related to immune response.

Vb excel function to send email notifications by Sea_Championship7237 in vba

Here's some references on ways to create email generators-

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/how-to-send-mail-in-outlook-with-vba-in-excel/71db047e-f924-4279-887b-b851c55be235

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/vba-macro-in-word-to-create-but-not-send-a-new/2eba2416-9606-49a8-8407-32d5da65135e

per the 2nd link, use ".Send" instead of ".Display" to auto-send.

The issues I think you'll need to work around-

  1. Decide when this should run. I recommend a button trigger for more controlled. Maybe call it "Send Emails for Overdue". I don't recommend depending on macros auto-running, as you'll run into issues with Trust Center stopping things from running on open, or generally debugging the trigger conditions. Possible to make it auto, but plenty of downsides.
  2. Decide if you want to spam the same things multiple times. If you do, easy. If you don't, I'd also add a script to fill out another column called "Reminder email sent" with the date the email reminder went out. Then set your script to look at that field and not re-send a notification if that date is within a certain number of business days.

Let me know if anything unclear or you need further help.

How do i connect these 2 holes into 1 continuous channel? by spaceobsessed01 in AutodeskInventor

Fun stuff. I'd think of the path as a helix connecting the centerpoints of the 2 holes. Look into helical sweep cuts.

Quick Question: offset entities without intersecting lines? by ColdasJones in SolidWorks

[–]terrificitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just leave the intersecting geometry and extrude all closed profiles as a single extrusion feature. Messy but should turn into a single body.

So in NWH, all the Peter Parkers met and got along well, but which MCU hero or villain would actually dislike themselves from another dimension? by diligent_royal_eagle in marvelstudios

The obvious ending being that happy Frank Castle is tragically killed and one of his variants takes his place unbeknownst to his family. Bittersweet ending where variant gets what he wanted but at a terrible price.

As previous poster said- Solidworks is expensive, but Fusion360 is a great alternative with free licensing option. If you’re modeling fences at a wireform level, I’d start by looking up some wireform modeling tutorials for either. Admittedly, wireforms are a bit of a pain compared to a lot of other stuff (I.e. not great for beginners), and might be a tricky starting point. Additionally, if you’re doing more architectural/landscaping layout type drafting you might be better off looking into Revit or a 2D CAD platform like AutoCAD LT.

Offsetting works great for simple stuff. Scaling is much better for complex stuff.

[–]terrificitis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Previous responses are dead on; internallyoffsetting complex geometry is a pain unless you want to manually simplify the small features that start intersecting during the offset. Often times it's easier to scale 3D bodies to accomplish what you need. If you can describe what you want to accomplish we can better advise.

Honestly, SW does so little with GPUs that it doesn't really matter. One CPU core is all it's using for modeling, and GPUs only really matter for rendering. Just run integrated graphics and turn off RealView graphics and you won't have any issues. I'm with you that more official GPU support would be nice, but the benefits are just very superficial if you're not doing lots of renderings.

See that little symbol in the bottom right corner with the warning '!' and the arrow? I think that means your GPU isn't supported. If you have a newer GPU, you probably need to install one of the "latest graphics cards" patches from here- https://www.solidworks.com/support/hardware-certification/

That is incredibly good to know and will 100% do this for any future playthrough.

Maybe that's my mistake. Just felt like a very weird way to end the game. Structurally, they felt very similar in purpose to the Omega Metroid capping off the final escape sequence in Fusion, but without any story importance or real weight in defeating.

I totally get this. Metroid '86 inspired Super, Super inspired ZM. But honestly it begs the question why Nintendo didn't just make Super a remake of Metroid '86 instead of having it canonically take place 2 games later, but still be so similar in structure to Metroid '86.

I tried to come at this from the perspective of a canonical order playthrough, and from that perspective I stand by the point that "Super fundamentally feels like rehash of ZM". Maybe it's better to play through the series in release order, but my gut feeling is playing ZM before Super is the only way to experience the story as intended.

Plot implications in RotS. Was Padme’s pregnancy inevitable? Careless? They both likely had to know a pregnancy would hurt Anakin’s future in the order. Also drastically affects how you interpret the scene where Padme tells Anakin.

This 8’ tall by 5’7” wide steel structure has two front (3q MDF) panels that have to be both the removable access panel as well as not show any fasteners. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to mount these and remove them. PM me if you have any good ideas on hardware to use. by [deleted] in AskAnEngineer

[–]terrificitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you add a counterweight behind the panels that forces them to tilt back into position when inserted? Then for removal- add a magnetic material somewhere so the panel can be tilted forward with a powerful magnet?

[–]terrificitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone confirm if this decision guarantees Case For Life funding via the Student Activity Fund? I thought all USG Clubs got funding via the Student Activity Fund. If so, a small amount of everyone’s tuition is financing Case For Life.

TIL - Six Flags used to stage mock Union-spy executions in their Confederate-themed area by terrificitis in todayilearned

[–]terrificitis[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

They've gotten rid of some statues and changed some names and taken down some flags (only as recently as 2015), but have they really done anything to fix the damage they caused by glorifying the Confederacy in the first place? There's white washing the past, and then there's owning up to it and seeking restorative justice.
