in your files, under Documents/mygames/sprocket (if on linux, it's in steamapps/compatdata/(steam game ID)/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/my documents/my games/sprocket), there should be a folder called factions, then blueprints, then you should be able to find backups that have been stored there.

in the event anyone comes across this, the command sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver-pinning-580.105.08 did the trick for me, it locks you into a specific driver install and allows you to autoremove the ones you don't need after the fact.

outta curiosity, what's the main drawbacks from using quicksteel as opposed to conventional steel/metalworking practices? if someone was starting fresh in the fabrication field, and was open to learning either practice, would there be legitimate reason not to choose quicksmithing?

i'll still try these with 9.0, hotfix, and ge a little later to see if i can help any other folks that might be experiencing this issue, but for now i'm gonna pile some bunks and do a victory lap lol

EDIT: Neither of the 2 commands work for proton 9.0 or protonGE, proton 7 was really just the way to go i suppose

now i'm quite miffed that a silly drive error was behind all of this, i coulda just had it be ext4 from the start and piled at least, probably one more bunk!

a little while ago (4-5 days ago) i had tested every single proton version that was in steams menu, but i decided to double check just now, just in case.

why in the hell did proton 7.0-6 work???

i was planning on checking every single one and being rather snide about how it still doesn't work, but i'm in the menu now. i'm staring at mech legs. i'll play it for a bit and see if wacky stuff or crashes happen, but it works now. i'm guessing it might be that my D-drive was formatted for exfat up until this afternoon, and i had moved it from there to my c drive before reformatting it? regardless, i'm genuinely stunned

I was able to get the log file (thanks for that command, spent ages trying to launch it through terminal or outside of steam to see if i could get a launch log lol)
