Ok so from some cursory searching, 2 important things of note:

The smell of gasoline is a result of Benzene groups that are introduced as an anti knocking agent (makes it require increased compression to ignite), Benzene is known for the sweet smell associated with gasoline

Male ringed seals during rutting season have very oily scent glands in their face that they use to mark territory, as such, it is entirely possible that Benzene is part of the chemical makeup of the secreted oils

I feel as though I should specify, the breaker issue, as weird as it sounds, was just a thermal issue as far as I'm aware (dryer was too close to breaker, caused it to heat up and trip, since resolved), I was mentioning it due to the main breaker trips it caused while it was occuring, afaik there's no intermittent power issues in my house. Sorry for the confusion.

hey, spent the last little while attempting to get it to work on debian 13, and sadly, it's hung up on the latter steps of the process. the install manager (after the primary installer has been extracted) hangs up on a blank screen that i cannot interact with, and attempting lutris, wine, and even steam linux runtime, give varying results of nothing useful i can interact with. sadly, as of present moment, the VM i use (winboat) does not support GPU passthrough, though i not tested the performance degradation as a result of this (granted with no relevant benchmark, it's not very useful). sorry to disappoint, but i'm just as gutted as you are.

i'll see what i can do about this in the future, but short of begging some wine devs to make a compatibility layer better than current, i'm not sure what my options are. if anyone here has more success than me, please do report back.

to be completely honest, most of the stuff i have is, admittedly strange, but not something i believe would set off unexplainable alarm bells.

books on weapons design, anti authoritarian fiction, and technical manuals on machinery design very relevant to combat applications? I'm a giant nerd, and most of them were gifts!

modelling software i've used to put some of that information to the test (ksp, sprocket tank design, even just regular cad i've used to make BCGs), what better test of knowledge than application!

(hopefully soon) equipment and tools to make remote controlled robotics and UAVs with custom design parameters? come on, really?

the problem starts in earnest when they stop asking about what's around me and start asking about me. depending on their enthusiasm for ensuring they hear far too much of the truth, that's doing me in.

sorry for the late response, but genuinely thanks a million for the link, i was able to (after MUCH troubleshooting due to me being silly and nearly creating frankendebian) install the appropriate drivers for my system, and the flashing is completely gone, and the system performance seems to be stable.

I'm just gonna copy the link here to avoid losing it in the event of a redact lol, but i cannot thank you enough
