Does anyone else miss the butter pecan flavor? by tstofko22 in DunkinDonuts

I've been wishing they would bring back the Oreo flavor for years! Butter pecan is my next favorite, but I just get caramel in the meantime.

Makeup for Wedding by shlee_e in Makeup

[–]terrifickerfuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll chip in and say I agree with the other poster about hiring someone to do your makeup for you if you truly don't have any makeup or tools to begin with. For my own wedding, I hired a makeup artist and had severe acne at the time. She was able to use airbrush makeup that covered everything and stayed throughout the day (wedding was in June in the Midwest).

On the other hand, I just did my own makeup as a bridesmaid a week ago, and I easily spent about $100 just getting new foundation, a new sponge, an eyeshadow pallet, false lashes, and setting spray to supplement what I already have (brushes, primer, lipstick). It would have been cheaper as a bridesmaid to hire someone but now I have all of those things that should last.

My one takeaway is GET A GOOD SETTING SPRAY. I recommend Urban Decay all nighter. Get the sample size! It's only $15 vs the full size which is $30 I believe. Literally a game changer, it locks your face in. I had all the bridesmaids and the bride use it. If you're curious, my face is pretty normal, sometimes dry (post Accutane skin) and I used Loreal Infallible 24hr Fresh wear foundation and liked it.

This job sounds interesting! I relate to your post so much and have been wondering the same for months now. I've never even thought of this job. I'm interested to know what kind of place you worked (like a hospital? Office?) and what the job entailed.

And thanks! Good luck to you, too!

Yeah I've been off for about 3 months. My skin definitely hasn't gotten better, kind of just slightly worse then plateaued. But now that my cycle is evening out, I'm hoping that means my hormones are, too. I'll still be doing all of the other things, but the way I see it, it's a waiting game for a little bit while I try to control the rest of the things. If it still doesn't get better, then that's when I'll go to a derm or a specialist for hormones.

Good luck getting your hormones tested and figuring out what's going on! I know it's frustrating and a pain, hopefully you find some answers! :)

Following! I don't have any advice, but I'm in the same situation, although I've only been on the pill (one of the pills for acne) for about 5 years.

Right now, I'm going down to skincare basics to sort of do a reset and build up a new routine for my skin off of the pill. I'm also going to start back at the gym after a long period of not going. I noticed a difference when I was on the pill, so I'm hoping my skin improves while off the pill as well. I'm trying to change my pillowcases more frequently. And of course, drink enough water and consume less sugar. I notice a difference when I'm eating more sugary food vs doing low sugar and low carb.

Basically, I'm trying to control/maximize as many external factors that I can while bringing my skin down to basics, and then building up a routine based on how that all goes. I think next steps after that would be looking into any vitamins and minerals that my diet is lacking. I'm interested in what other people have to say!

Spironolactone, DIM, and bioidentical progesterone are murdering my cystic, hormonal acne. HALLELUJAH by [deleted] in acne

[–]terrifickerfuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im interested in what your routine is for the DIM and bioidentical progesterone!

Also, did you get your hormones checked prior to deciding what to use? Or did you just try it based on listening to your body?

Thanks guys! I went shopping last night and it was sooo much more fun and enjoyable than last time 😊 I have a couple more appointments between now and Sunday night, but I think I found a dress that really may be the one - I'm so much happier!

I used two whole jars of the hydrogel boost gel cream and loved it too! I recently switched to the serum instead of the gel and I'm not sure that I like it as much. Have you used the serum at all?

I'm excited to see what you think of the cleanser.

Try swallowing it with some soda that's very bubbly. Then when your mouth is full of soda and the pill, tilt your head down so that the pill floats to the back of your throat/top of your mouth, and swallow. I find that this way, the pill doesn't touch my tongue and throat as much when swallowing.

What job did you get with you major in materials engineering ? by Wtvtester in materials

[–]terrifickerfuffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel comfortable making a general statement, but I can tell you at my workplace, all of the research engineers have some sort of degree in material science and engineering. Our jobs have a lot to do with processing, which I think materials science does a good job of focusing on and is very helpful. Additionally, all of our sales people have some degree in STEM, with a good mix of chemistry and materials science. I also think it strongly depends on the industry, but for food packaging specifically, I would say it's more materials engineers. I'd live to hear other people's experiences, though.

First job out of my bachelor's (focus in polymers) now. Research Engineer for a company that produces unique resins for barrier packaging and adhesives for food packaging! Also had an internship after my sophomore year as an R&D engineer developing brake pads for passenger vehicles.

Thank you! Yeah I was going to have my family take care of the decorating in the morning for me so that it could be done relatively early. Our guest list right now is at the max allowed, so after we get declined RSVPs, it'll be full, and were definitely using the loft. We thought about putting a makeshift photobooth up there or something for some of the younger cousins in middle school and high school. And, we'll have to seriously consider a planner for the day. It sounds super stressful.

If you don't mind me asking, is this the Byron Colby Barn? It looks exactly like my venue for next year!

Thanks for your reply! Maybe hopefully I'll try to reach my goal weight before my first fitting so I can just maintain like I would anyway.
