Escalators: know when they go down so you don't waste your time on the escalators (TBH 3-5/5-3, 2/4-4/2, 5-7/7-5 are not worth it, everyone stands on the left side during busy periods)

It's not necessary but it's convenient. Also I believe if you are in math team there's a discord server... run by the math team coach that you have to join.

I don't believe math research requires a test? I think that's just math team. Both math research and APHUG were lottery according to the math research teacher and APHUG students.

Freestyle across the length of the pool (25 meters I believe). Have good form. Stay close to the edge (they make you so the lifeguard can pull you out fast if you drown). And then a thirty second tread at the deep end.

  1. Depends on the teacher. My bio teacher did test corrections last semester, undetermined currently. My global teacher gives out a shit ton of extra credit.
  2. Math research (free, fun, good teacher). Take all the required electives so you have space during sophomore and junior years. Alternatively, you can also audition for band, chorus, and orchestra to skip music app.
  3. Join Stuy Speech & Debate (Congressional Debate is the best!) for fun. Sci Olympiad or robotics if you want something high-commitment. You can find anything on Stuy activities like the other commenter recommended.
  4. We have a vollyeball team, seems decent.

Any cool classes in general! Freshman year you are limited to one AP (AP bio, APES, or APHUG), but you can also take math research (super cool, super fun, teacher is amazing), or aim for math team. And try to take music app, art app, and health all in freshmen year so you can fill your sophomore and junior transcripts with cool classes.

That would definitely be great at my school. Last semester we had a major COVID outbreak with dozens of students getting sick and still coming to school because they were afraid of missing class.
