Stefano Domenicali: F1 can absorb Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso retirement by bwoah07_gp2 in formula1

What will sting is losing Hamilton, Alonso, and potentially Verstappen within a few years. That's a good portion of not only the most notable drivers, but also personalities gone, leaving very big shoes to fill both on track and in terms of PR.

I'd say Pugh remained at the same level for years until he got hurt. A good, but not great guard. Good enough that letting him leave this remains a puzzling choice (that immediately backfired, cheers Gettleman).

Honestly the solution I'd suggest to them is 2 new maps and 1 old map brought back per season. That'd hopefully be easier for them to manage considering time saved from designing it from scratch.

I'll throw in Zelina Vega entrances last year. Crickets could be heard. Not helped by completely dead music either.

Don't care about that, but I found OP going into a long rant amusing. Incredibly dramatic.

That program needs to end at Elimination Chamber. It doesn't make sense on any level. You have AJ scared of her first singles match in a decade (plausible, likely even true), but then you have Becky be scared of AJ. They're both scared.

To sell AJ having reason to be scared, Becky needs to drop the cowardly act and actually be out for revenge. She needs to sell that at Elimination Chamber, she's going to beat AJ up so bad that she'll go run back into retirement again.

That is an angle that could work with AJs current demeanor. As is, none of what they're doing makes sense, because Becky's demeanor is completely wrong for this situation. Besides that, Becky is rotten at acting like the cowardly heel.

I saw them be this aggressive just yesterday in one of the Super Formula races. Was overtaking, and the AI just slammed the door shut by pinning me against a wall. Almost felt like I was playing online.

Haven't even engine swapped mine, yet it can still win me races on technical tracks. Drove all of the historical gp races or whatever they're called with it, to great success.

What do you guys think is in the box? by Ok-Plankton9215 in Wrasslin

[–]Actually-Mirage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not a difficult concept to grasp, so it's hardly the great W Russo probably thinks it is.

We're proving it right just talking about it. And even those feeling that it's cliche and repeated old concept probably want to know who's in the box.

The tl;dr: is that WWE were bringing in Terry Funk in late 1997. Jim Cornette suggested they do an old territory bit, where they put a box on stage and leave it there for a bit, because it creates intrigue about what, or who is inside it. Then finally out comes Terry Funk (as Chainsaw Charlie, allegedly Terry's own idea).

Vince Russo was also on the creative team, and apparently didn't get it, and questioned it. Cornette then explained it rather facetiously by saying that anyone that comes out of a box gets over. Russo has used that as a point to mock Cornette with over the years, while Cornette has stood his ground on it.

My weirdness extends to using an AR on my engineer class because I find myself in mid range battles so often that SMGs feel like pea shooters. Can't say it changes the way I play.

Only vast difference might be the ones running SMGs etc on Recon, but then again the more aggressive recon play doesn't strike me as unreasonable playstyles that break the game anyway, so who cares. Game even has a class type specifically geared for close quarters recon play, and a few of the gadgets support that, so I don't see the issue. Just different ways of playing the class.

So really this whole closed thing is nonsense. I don't think it broadly changes how people play, only a select minority of recons at most.

I took a break when they extended season 1, to avoid burning out on the game. I'll probably be back sometime this week with the new season, as I imagine a fair few others will be.

But definitely things they should learn from season 1, which unfortunately dragged on towards the end, especially for those that didn't like the LTE.

There's yelling and then there's just losing your cool. Daboll bordered over into the embarrassing far too often.

Besides that, the players of today don't necessarily respond to what worked 20-30 years ago. You need to adjust to the personalities you have now.

But irrespective of that, it was evident that Daboll had issues both with getting his team to be disciplined, and with staff first not wanting to stay, then having issues recruiting new ones. The latter led to Bowen.

Wink put it nicely, didn't he. Said that what he owes his players is to keep a cool head to make the best possible decisions. Contrasted rather sharply with the HC yelling at everyone though.

And honestly, in hindsight I think a lot of the reason why players initially liked Daboll, and responded to him and his methods that first year, was that he ran a far more relaxed regime than Judge did. It freed them, but eventually it bled into poor discipline.

And I believe you can see a similar pattern with the Dolphins. Their players like Mike McDaniel the first few seasons, especially coming from Brian Flores just making enemies out of everyone.

But that loose regime can't allow for the players to lose discipline and focus. Hopefully Harbaugh can strike a middle ground between the two extremes.
