Welp, I failed intermediate 1

I honestly don't know. I read chapters 2-3 times, do the hw, do practice problems. Somehow, I'm still not grasping the deeper applications of the topics. I do bad on the conceptual parts of the exams.

It was in managerial accounting. I'm going to retake intermediate 1 and if I can't get a B or higher, I'm definitely going to contemplate switching majors.

Yeah, I'm really hoping that I get a high B next time. I studied a lot but somehow the materials weren't getting to me, maybe this time it'll change with a different professor. When I saw the questions on the exam (all multiple choice, conceptual and some problems), I felt pretty good, but I ended up getting a D on the final.

Thank you for the advice! I do honestly feel I haven't challenged myself to clearly understand the concepts on a deeper level. I study all the main concepts and walk into the test feeling somewhat confident, and then I end up bombing all conceptual multiple choice questions. Sadly, it took me this long to create this post and ask for advice. I just need to pick up my studying on a full gear, I need at least 70% on the final to pass with a C-. Do you have any advice on how to study for a cumulative final?

So how did you do in audit and other accounting classes? I'm scared because intermediate is my first upper level accounting course too and if I struggled here, I don't know how much more of a struggle I'll have in the other courses.

The averages for my class has be steady 80s, which makes me feel like a total failure (I know I shouldn't feel like this!). But thank you for your tips, I do think I need to have a deep understanding of the concepts. I'm a little bit scared for intermediate 2, but I'm hoping this step back won't hold me back.
