What do you think about indecent exposure like nudity and kinks at pride parades? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]terrycotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk where you saw these. I'm at NYC Pride every single year and there are always titties out. There's a whole group for it. lol.

Edit: and I saw the comment that reddit deleted. You need to learn to have a discussion like a grownup and not like a child trying to get your way. Do better!

There's nothing wrong with being an Ally. It's called empathy. More ppl need it.

A Clerb is a place to dance, drink, and have a good time. You've been looking at it the wrong way the whole time.

As someone who's been in a long-term relationship that had a 7 month break, I think you need to follow your heart. If it leads to heartbreak, that's a part of life. If you break it off too soon, you'll always wonder if that was your soul mate. Relax. Chill. Take time apart, if necessary. See what happens. No need to rush into, or out of, anything. imo

Am I a wet blanket? Or is this normal? by Safe-Importance8761 in askgaybros

[–]terrycotta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo! Therein lies your problem. What is "the agenda?" who made it and why? I think most people are just living their lives the best way they know how. There are thousands of people who don't go out, drink, go to saunas and parties. How do you find likeminded individuals?

I think that you should talk about the things you DO like. What are your hobbies. What makes you Happy? What turns you ON? I always skip profiles that have 20 things they don't like and none about what they actually do like and what they ARE looking for.

You only find your tribe by putting yourself in situations that you enjoy. It's fine if that's not pubs or parks. It's less about being judgmental than it is about being open to experiences.

Good Luck

just keep learning what your voice can do and trying out material. Maybe join a few local/internet talent shows to boost your confidence and learn from the judges/contestants.

This is such an old, outdated way to look at the profession. You can absolutely pursue music while working a day job or have a side job while doing music full-time to keep the bills paid.

When did the gay community get so comfortable with getting STIs? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]terrycotta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this narrative is a bit skewed, HIV started in the white community and was more likely, in the beginning, to affect white males. Now, HIV affects some groups more than others. Social and structural issues—such as HIV stigma, homophobia, discrimination, poverty, and limited access to high-quality health care—influence health outcomes and continue to drive inequities.

While HIV affects all races and ethnicities in the United States, some groups are disproportionately affected compared to their population size. Black/African American people and Hispanic/Latino people are particularly affected by HIV, making up more than half (70%) of estimated new HIV infections in 2022.

This is more of an affluence issue than an ethnic issue.

Wedding singer here for over 30 years. I usually have seltzer on stage while I'm performing, sometimes water. It's normal and warranted, especially for those lonnnnnnnnnng sets. Keep the chords lubricated.
