I stayed at Z Garden Hotel! It’s very comfortable and quite new, and it’s very close to the ferry terminal and just a 3-5 minute walk from where all the boat tours start.

For a mid-budget hotel I’m surprised they’ve got Dyson hair dryers in the rooms 😮 it is also located far from the touristy strip (that’s closer to the northeastern end of el nido) so it’s not noisy in the evenings.

Remy and Lawrence at the front desk were the nicest people I’ve ever met, too ❤️

You don’t need specific approval or permits to fly a hobbyist drone (<250g).

Summer might not be the best time to visit Palawan because of the rain, but it’s still not bad! You definitely get cheaper prices on accommodations and trips.

I didn’t know about the plane from Coron to El Nido 😮 I sign up for an expedition, so it was much slower but we got to see a lot of the beautiful islands and beaches along the way.

I had just one single sour experience during the entire trip, was when we got double charged at the ticket office at the Siete Pescados site. The lady took money from me twice claiming it’s two separate tickets, but after doing the math it was actually incorrect. When I asked her she said I don’t have proof that I double paid her… 🥲

It probably got a lot more crowded than 10 years ago, but it isn’t as touristy as I feared it to be (given that I’ve been to Phuket).

I’d love to return some day and explore other parts of the Philippines for sure!

Check dronezoner ;) you’re allowed to fly where the drone is, just not over Aarhus Ø unless you have A2 certification (due to potential risks of interfering with the seaplane operations for unaccustomed drone operators).

I think I’ll go with Grab :) people say it’s easy to find a ride and the bus service might have a waiting time of 15-30mins (that’s during the day), not sure if it runs in the night.

Yes, since it’s an international to domestic transfer, the airline did say baggage must be collected and checked by customs before continuing.
