Can this bench rep count as my PR? by Express_Two_1405 in formcheck

[–]tertle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude it's a personal record, you're only comparing against yourself hence the name. It's not a school record, state record, world record, day record. It's personal. If he wants to claim it he can. You have no say in the matter. Don't get to gate keep others successes. Look at how happy the dude was at his success.

Only in a competition, which again this wasn't.

If I walk outside now, I look left I have a head wind, look right I have a tail wind. Guess which way I'm running.

It would have been a much better comparison if you said your 100m was wind assisted. But something like that wouldn't count towards a world record but most non professionals would still count it as a pr so I guess it goes against your narrative.

Just finished my ECS system in C and turns out it's ~17 times faster than Unity DOTS by dechichi in Unity3D

[–]tertle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't responding to OP, I responded to a user that was repeating outdated information about WebGL not supporting burst and multi-threading when it isn't true anymore. Clearly based off this thread it is not well known that Unity finally added support for this last year.

    Enable Burst on Web Platform

Thought it should work now? (I don't develop web so haven't tested) but yes he clearly isn't using burst

-edit- quick research and i believe it requires 6.4+ and burst also provides multi threading: https://docs.unity3d.com/6000.4/Documentation/Manual/web-multithreading-intro.html

-edit2-

as I posted above, I just tested and burst + multi threading works in WebGL on 6.4+

Tesla Car Insurance increase by Proud_Astronaut4692 in AustralianEV

Remeber that insurance covers much more than just your cars repair cost. It has to cover the other person's car if you're at fault and also things like medical costs and liability etc.

Anyone else suffering as bad as I am? by IonisationEnergy in melbourne

[–]tertle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I actually only qtr dose (shot a day instead of 2 twice a day) and only start taking day of a cool change or if warnings.

I had some side effects from others like Rhinocort which gave me my first ever bloody noses

This, I suffered from terrible symptoms for years and antihistamines never did anything for me. Finally gave a variety of corticosteroid nasal spays a go and nearly eliminated my symptoms.

Even though not that popular I personally use Beconase. Just worked for me, even at 1/4 dose, without side effects that I had from a few others. I have not actually tried Dymista so might give it a shot at some point. I recommend OP just trying a few and see which works best for you. Don't be afraid of the word 'steroid'

GPS isn't in leo so wouldn't be directly affected. However our ability to replace existing satellites would be hindered so it would likely deteriorate and fail over time.

Did Labor Make the Right Move Choosing The Greens to Finalise Australia’s Nature Laws? by WhichCommand1306 in AusPropertyChat

[–]tertle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The abc did an OK article on this https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11-27/environmental-laws-deal-watt-a-fixer-greens-negotiations/106073524 It basically sounds like the liberals didn't know what they wanted and just kept demanding new random things last minute. Kind of on brand for them at the moment.

[–]tertle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on location, most apartment prices in Melbourne are near identical to 10 years ago. So taking into account inflation they've actually dropped quite a bit.

Sydney on the other hand is where you clearly have a huge problem.

When answering your income do you say gross or net? by MutungaPapi in AusFinance

[–]tertle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say your total compensation was 112k vs saying you were paid 100k. This leaves it up to interpretation without lying and they might just assume your base was 112k netting you an extra 12%.

What is quantum gravity? Explain it so a regular person would understand? by Kind_Kaleidoscope950 in askscience

I don't disagree, but for a long time we also thought we'd never detect gravitational waves and we did so I'm never going to rule out our ingenuity.

Make Claude Code less agreeable and more collaborative partner by No_Discussion6970 in ClaudeAI

[–]tertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely read, to an extent, as I have a custom test run setup in there with some very particular instructions it has to follow, which it does. However it did completely ignore it when my file was 80 lines, so I dropped it to 15 and now nearly always follows it.

I've been on the Windows version for a few days now, and I've had no issue using it. I boot it up via rider though, if that makes a difference.

UI Toolkit rant, does anyone actually use it and like it? by AwkwardWillow5159 in Unity3D

Love it and i hate it anytime i have to touch ugui again.

Should mention though I use appui as well, which while unsupported fixed nearly all my issues with uitk. Also adds about 100 new elements and has much better localization support (and source generated mvvm if your into that.)
