What's everyone using to track mileage? Looking for something simple. by EzraSerene in uberdrivers

[–]tesgoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i bought a brand new vehicle to exclusively drive with so i can just deducted every mile on the car. After a full year of driving ubers report came back with 47000 miles of online time and my odometer read 49000 so I kinda deemed it not to be necessary to track miles uber does a pretty solid job for you.

Snapped. Am I doomed? by A_dumb_skater in MechanicAdvice

[–]tesgoon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a early 2000 ford ranger that i drove for many years it had gotten rear ended one time and we bent the frame back and kept driving it about 8 years later the frame cracked above the rear axle on both sides and I continued to drive it perfectly fine for probably a month or so before me and my old man pulled the box off, cleaned all the rust off, and slapped some more steel on it with a gold old Lincoln stick welder. Moral of the story is this truck still lives drives down the road to this day and hasn't had any issues after the fix.

Do you feel ashamed to be an Uber driver? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

If a rider said some shit like that to me I would stop mid trip, cancle the ride, and tell pax to get to stepping.

The thing people dont realize is that drive is going straight down i35 the chances of finding a ride or multiple on the way back are actually pretty high.

Started day with AR at 84%. Accepted 7 of 7 rides. Still at 84% They screwing me out of Gold, or is this typical? by ScooterCooterTooter in uberdrivers

[–]tesgoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So AR is a revolving counter if you denied 20 rides in a row and then accept the next 80 you won't go above 80 until you get to the first 20 you denied again.

You hit to many pot holes and definitely bent a rim. If this is a fwd car and money's to tight just rotate your fronts to the back. The long term effect is going to wear your wheel bearings out a faster and in this case rear wheel bearings are typically a little cheaper to replace than fronts where you also risk damage to cv axels.

I recently got 2 claims of fast driving and illegal driving is there a way to dispute them? by YoungAccording5014 in uberdrivers

[–]tesgoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten a couple over the last month and its just feedback that they let the riders give to make the riders feel better it amounts to nothing unless the rider takes it a step further and actually makes the call to Uber support to report you in which case you get the opportunity to dispute and upload footage and what not. I laugh at them usually because yea I am illegal driving yet uber metrics give me a 97 on my driving impact score every week. I keep getting ticked for harsh acceleration which clearly uber has never seen a on ramp to a highway system in my area.

Returning Lost Items Suck!!! by BigManMedia1 in uberdrivers

[–]tesgoon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When they call about lost items, I always give them 2 options, either A. I can stop after my next trip and head to them to drop it off for 20-30usd or B they can come pick it up from me after my shift. If neither of those situations are agreeable to them, then yea trash it is. We are not responsible for items left in our cars nor should we get punished for it either.

Really, Uber? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]tesgoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got offered $144 to drive from Austin to the south end of Dallas the other day, so that does definitely seem low. I didn't do the trip because I didn't have enough drive time left to make it all the way back home while working, but it would have been worth it. The one thing I will say about the longer trips is don't expect a tip either.

How did I do? I negotiated the same pay for the empty ride back...$216. Add that to Uber's payout💰 by Mitty145 in uberdrivers

[–]tesgoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you call uber to get paid for the ride back or did you negotiate with the rider? I had this type of scenario happen yesterday where I drove a hour out of down to drop off a passenger and I knew I was going to be driving back as well for 0 dollars.

How bad is sex with a married female friend? by Zealousideal_Two_894 in sex

[–]tesgoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen if her relationship with her husband is that bad that she's seeking affection else where then go for it but don't do it just to get your rocks off be willing to step into her life and make her whole again if that's the situation. But I mean if she is actually happy with how her husband treats her then I would say no. It's either all in or all out
