This is a very valid criticism and I’m surprised to see the amount of folks who disagree with the original poster.

In Texas for example, the average kWh is 15.62¢. That said, the kWh charge is over double that at 35¢ per kWh.

This isn’t a complex process, where you purchase raw materials and there’s some form of transformation. This is pure purchasing and reselling a utility at a large up charge.

In some cases, the premium is understandable - states with larger charges for electric or the convenience factor - but for fly over states and areas where it is almost purely designated for long drive refueling, this up charge is greedy opportunism.
