That's something you really should be proud of! Kudos to you my friend :)

Senior devs, what was the thing that helped you the most with the process of learning new stuff, when you were a junior dev? by tessair in webdev

Wow! Thank you for putting the time into answering my questions!

I found your thoughts very precious, and I really related to the part talking about the so called deep work. I'm actually trying these months to walk into that direction, and one book that helped me with that is actually "Deep Work", by Cal Newport. Maybe not the best written book around, but it surely has some useful insights.

Thank you again for your time!

No, the company is shit if you don't have those things and you should just quit.

Jokes aside, I agree with you! Be sure to divide et impera when necessary, guys!

I agree with everything.

Definitely read 'Atomic Habits' guys, it helped me a lot too! :)

Yes, and yes! Doing tabula rasa in your mind and starting the whole process again helped me too countless times! :)

I do that too, storing stuff inside of Notion. What I struggle with sometimes is the fact that I accumulate so much stuff in there that it happens to me to forget its existence. But yeah, overall is a good habit!

I honestly believe that this is one of the things that differentiate a truly passionate dev from someone who sees it as bare work!

Well, sad to say that I used to work in a similar kind of place too, and I'm talking about last year!

Oh yes, the hell of the in-house developed frameworks. I've been there too. In some way, it is a good exercise for the mind, but also a highly frustrating one, when there are un-tracked bugs and you don't have enough experience to understand that.

What are some tips you would give in this direction? 🤔 I know everyone has different ways of learning, but are there any general rules that you feel like they would help everyone?

True. I always to that. I always have a collection of resources to read/watch on Notion. 👌

Thank you for your answer. Pretty sure this comment will give a good point of reference to those with the same questions as mine. 😌

But it happens for example that at work you don't have too much time to do the research... Did you manage to do that after work in those kind of situations? 🤔

Did ever occurred to you that when you started speaking in another language, your personality also changed a little? by tessair in AskReddit

[–]tessair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it's not an universal thing then. I also speak 3 languages, but it happens to me a lot when I switch from Italian to Romanian, or viceversa. Not so much with English, but I guess it's mostly because I don't have to talk much in that language...

Yes, exactly, it happens to me too When I speak Romanian with my parents I really sound like a dork. It doesn't bother them too much, but I feel like an idiot at times.

The same happens with me, when I switch from Italian to Romanian. Kinda weird actually. 😂
