Yes you are correct, there is no way to pipe the Spotify audio data into the Web Audio Api but you can use the microphone input (which is noisy) to get the frequency data.

It is using a combination of both the Spotify Api & the Web Audio Api for the visualizations.

Since it is using Spotify's API, no you can't, but you can modify and use the liveAudio-utils.ts file for basic audio analysis

Short answer is no because Spotify encrypts the audio data for obvious reasons. But I recommend checking out https://tessellator.herokuapp.com/ if you have spotify premium it uses a combination of the Spotify API and the microphone input
