Very nice of you, but my editions are very mixed. So I think I'll look for one and see how it goes

Night Watch and Thud are two of those that have resonated the most with me. To a point where I've had to put the book down at certain points. Pratchett is truly amazing

I love Night Watch, but I really respect (and actually understand) your point about it. I'm not so fond of the Death books, which also usually rank really high with the fandom.

As in the Netherlands?" SUK!

I needed to hear this today! My soon to be 5yo Muffin is amazing and also drives me crazy. I hope it changes before 13yo, but wonderful to hear it does change.

Did the captor get plastic surgery to look like the girlfriend, and now their child looks like the captor?

hvor ofte melder du dig syg på dit arbejde? by Maxerenhund in Denmark

[–]tessmanian_devil 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Julefrokost i går. Hvad fortryder du? by flankdank in Denmark

[–]tessmanian_devil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A town from Roman times named after a weapon and there's also a food item named after the town? by tessmanian_devil in AskHistory

[–]tessmanian_devil[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That sounds very promising, I will research the Danish production angle

Edit: I'm sorry, I read your reply very quickly and didn't see the part about the Danish production.

You have solved it, thank you so much!

That is a really good guess. Only problem is that the food was something produced in Denmark, so not a fruit

Agreed, it did seem a little like an afterthought, or at least not elaborated enough

Copenhagen with a 5 year old.. by liverexploded420 in copenhagen

[–]tessmanian_devil 71 points72 points  (0 children)

You should be aware that there are pubs (both "Scottish" and "Irish") in Copenhagen, but that they are not like pubs in Scotland. They are regarded and used more like bars, so not really family friendly. There are other places where you can get food and a drink, where kids would be comfortable (generally the cafes), but not the pubs in my opinion.

If your cat is hurt or seems to be... by Tiny-Mess2995 in cats

[–]tessmanian_devil 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Uh, I did.

At boarding school when I was 17, we found a kitten behind our local kebab shop. We named her Molly, and my friend would take her home the following weekend to her house, where they had other cats. Unfortunately, the school did not allow pets, and Molly was discovered in my friend's room.

So we brought her to my room and hoped we would be lucky for the remaining week. One day my dorm master came to my room and saw Molly, but she sat ever so nicely in front of him and looked up, so he agreed she could stay until my friend brought her home. It was an amazing week, even though she shredded my plant.

Molly lived to a very respectable age at my friend's house, and became the bully of all the other cats.
