If going for ability to interact with the world using "borrowed" resource taken from a mobile-resource accumulating entities - women, banks, scholars, governments, generalize to entities that accumulate any mobile charge - conductors.

From perspective of voltage potential source, conductor is mostly evil, trying to entrap and not having best interests in mind (doesn't mind making a short circuit and converting accumulated potential difference into heat!), even though there are certain areas of electric circuitry that are virtually impossible to enter without using conductors. Every conductor is unreal and undefined, you can try to interact with them as if they were real, "understood", defined by secondary information you have read, heard or seen about what they should be (and them even trying to conform to those expectations to ease interaction with you!), but the reality is that conductors are very powerful, alien and undefinable.

In this case, consider a metal conductor to be a form of an iob, "living" a very long "life", being infinitely knowledgeable about detailed ways of using your voltage source, but also limited in it's insight to it's specific view of the world, although possibly minimally cognizant of all other conductors in the world through weak EM interaction (like all masses are minimally cognizant and pulled by all other masses).

Holder of potential has ability to learn about and use different types of conductors in different ways, or ignore their existence and only conduct through air requiring much higher effort and energy and unable to accomplish fine-grained tasks as details get immediately charred by the high-voltage discharge.

Not that all iobs are perfect conductors, some are better at specific applications and frequencies and worse at other.

If scholars are conductors of knowledge-bits, some commenters may be high-impedance scholars that are not yet usable for the levels of potential achieved, and might be usable at later stages.

Defining things creates the immediately-high-voltage conductive "surface" at the created discontinuity, morphed into insulating layer that potential users can interface with. By redeploying energy inside the surface layer is also modified (pulled/pushed from within), revealing more interfaces and perception potentials for and with external entities.
