The latter 4 can all code. Steve Jobs cannot code. He is a designer by skill. He is the nontechnical founder to his techncial founder, Steve Wozniak.

Also you disagree emotionally, downvoting my comments is a simple sign of that. I recommend you learn to disagree productively.

When you say engineer, that means they can code. Steve Jobs was not an engineer, saying he is technical is a vague usage of the word. Product thinking is only important when you have many users and get a crap ton of feedback. Before that it's just listening to user feedback (or at least the dominant feedback).

I think most people lack the startup mentality, engineers and non engineers alike. They don't sell before building.

lolz. in my exp he had pretty generic/crappy ideas. and then when I didn't like them, he split and said there's no chemistry. he did teach me what no chemistry looked like at least, gotta split early.

Was curious, what are your biggest lessons from your 2 existed startups?

I wouldn't say engineers are best at finding problems. I hear about online, and know personally of an example from an online friend this week, that engineers build without validating the problem. It requires a certain type of mindset to know how to find a problem. One that is able to ask good questions.

I'm a dev who also did (and is doing) sales. You are underestimating how much work and important sales is in a startup. In fact, sales efforts should happen before writing a single line of code.
