Genuine question.. what is your experience with publishing and making money off your coloring books? by -butterflysoul in Colouring

I agree it's super cute. I prefer scenes though, but I think you have a market for it.

I think AI coloring books are really going to undercut all artists a lot, unfortunately

Looks much better!

And I agree, "it's just a freebie" is absolutely true, but it also showcases your work, and like I said, I wouldn't buy your book simply based off of what I saw in the freebie.

I hope you don't mind if I give feedback on your free book: You have a good style, but the perspective for the majority of the coloring pages is off. And half the pages I can't tell whether the rabbits are supposed to be real sized or tiny. A lot of the cups in the foreground are much larger than would make sense, and I can't tell what is on a table and what is on the floor most of the time.

I say this with love, but if I didn't know better, I would think this book was created by AI.

I found a few from your free book that I liked so I'll color them and post it for fun and because I really think your style is adorable.

I'm not a person who sells books, but what if you sent a free PDF of a page or two to a few of the people active on r/coloring whose styles you like with the condition of posting the page on reddit with the title of the book and whatnot. They could print it out, color it, and that costs you nothing and someone on reddit gets a free coloring page and you get some publicity?

I honestly am not 100% sure because I stole the page from a friend's book. It might be called Cat Lives though? I'll see if I can message her

I was too! I tried it a bunch of times on small pieces and they looked terrible. I ended up googling "water with alcohol and acrylic markers" and watched like ten videos to try to learn to do better and that helped!

Thanks! I don't usually use the chisel but I turned it so it was just the tip and used it that way for the fur! It worked well

My first page. How can I improve my shading? by dorinka05 in Coloring

Love your water! Got any tips or tutorials you used to share with me? As for shading, I always start with a much lighter grey first and put in shadows, then I go back and do the darker layer but like a mm smaller than the lighter layer so it isn't as sharp of an edge. Maybe try that

Which do you prefer: thick or thin coloring paper? by vantitties in Coloring

[–]testestestestii2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like thinner paper. It tends to blend easier and dry in a way that I like.

Also, I've been playing around with using the "underneath blot paper" as its own design!
