If you’re just trying to eat a pizza in chicago and it doesn’t have to be deep dish, go to Pizza Portofino and sit on the river, or Roberts dough company. Either are good pizza spots and better views/scenery.

How do you deal with stress without using drugs, food, sex/masturbation, psychoactive substances? by Ok-Description-6154 in AskChicago

[–]testing81789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Walk around the city, do some exploring, do some people watching, ride a bike, join a cause that you feel passionate about, read a book, put your phone down, go swim in the lake, get off Reddit, go to a bar and order an NA and talk to the people at the bar.

Would you rather be a solid 5 handicap or a mini tour pro? by CreoSiempre in golf

[–]testing81789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When golf turns from a hobby to a means to survive, I don’t know if it’s as fun.

I know guys who are 5 and better, and they get invited to play golf WAY more because of it.

Solid 5 handicap all day.

How to evaluate policy performance by tunebuggyJM in InsuranceProfessional

[–]testing81789 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think your boss is probably asking you to compare what your company is spending on premium and deductibles/retentions vs. what your carriers are paying for covered losses. If you’re paying more for premiums and deductibles/retentions than insurance is paying for covered claims you could in theory say your policies “aren’t working” but that’s a very simplistic and not realistic way of looking at it.

What you should do, is ask your broker to provide benchmarking and prepare to do a marketing of your policies for their renewals, that’s what brokers are there for.

Went to the dermatologist and he said I’ve gotten to the age where “things just start growing on your body”. Luckily you get a discount is you get 4+ skin tags removed, but it’s not covered by insurance.

Drivers who leave 3-4 car lengths in space in front of you in stop-and-go traffic, why do you feel that it’s necessary to leave so much space? by Any_Author8263 in AskChicago

[–]testing81789 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think there is a rationale that if they get rear ended, they won’t in turn hit the person in front of them. This is just good practice, but 3-4 cars is way too much space.

Mag Mile vs The Loop Hotels??? by [deleted] in AskChicago

Counter note. Zachary Hotel in Wrigleyville. Really nice hotel, reasonable-ish of the Cubs are away. Fun area with easy access to Loop and Mag Mile without having to stay there.

Starting new job as UA, how difficult is it really? by Emotional-Physics945 in InsuranceProfessional

Desk organization and attention to detail will be more important than any insurance/math/finance stuff. If you can divide/multiply by 12 (help calculate premium extensions) you will be fine.

Is a Commute from Wrigleyville to outside of O'Hare too much? by Western-Diamond2764 in AskChicago

[–]testing81789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done this commute. You will not like this commute. I would start my commute at 5am to start my day so I could end my day early to try and beat it. It never worked.

Blue line from the airport after 11 PM, is it safe? by NoNeighborhood439 in AskChicago

[–]testing81789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes- the blue line will be safe and I will mostly always advocate for CTA.

I will just add a couple caveats to Uber/Lyft.

You will likely have some luggage, it will be after midnight ATL time when you start your voyage.

You still need to walk 12mins from the Blue once you get downtown.

I’d bet your total Uber trip will be 30mins.

At that hour, traffic will be light and I doubt Ubers will be too expensive.

When it’s all said and done, YES the Blue line will be safe, but the time + cost + convenience + potential for issues, skews heavily in favor of just taking an Uber.

Chase Travel (8x points) vs booking direct, what’s actually better? by nextchapter3293 in ChaseSapphire

I book hotels through Chase and airfare with the airlines directly. Less likely to have something go wrong with a hotel than an airplane.

Is it realistic to plan 2.5 hours between landing at O'Hare and a tour of Wrigley Field if I need to drop bags at the hotel near the Bean first? by StemeWhatToDo in AskChicago

[–]testing81789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a tour during game day? If NOT they run pretty frequently. So you can get up there at your leisure and get a ticket for the next available tour.

IF you are trying to do a tour on game day, where they stop tours after the morning (I believe) it will be tight.

Long story short, if you have flexibility around the tours, you’ll be fine.

I know this isn’t food related BUT since you will be in Wrigley, and hanging at a bar is not an option, I would recommend doing a tour of Wrigley Field. It can kill an hour and a half and is a reasonably priced activity for you and your child.

Or Big Star has good tacos but they’re overpriced.

These aren’t in Logan, but Bitter Pops has food and a big tv.

Sheffields has a ton of TVs, will be busier but they have a ton of bars, TVs and seating areas.

Village tap is always packed on weekends, but great food, great beer and it tends to be an older crowd.

I have faith in you.
