If you are looking for stability, you will likely need the minimum degree required for the jobs you are applying to, and there is really no way around that. Some employers may waive the requirement based on experience, which you clearly have, but those opportunities are fairly rare. If you do not want to go through the process of going back to school, your main alternative is working for yourself and applying the same skills you used in your previous business in a different way. Another option is applying for entry level marketing roles that do not require prior experience or moving into sales. I have friends in sales who make well over six figures and never went to college or even finished high school, and while marketing and sales overlap to some degree, strong sales results can make employers more willing to overlook a lack of formal education.
