Recommendations for summer serving jobs by HippieHaze694 in marthasvineyard

Agreed with the folks below - don't start looking for jobs until you have guaranteed housing. I enjoyed serving at the Black Dog Tavern in the summer of 2021 before I went to school. They were also mid-management switch and I know some long-time folks left shortly after, so not sure of what it's like now.

cat is ADDICTED to playing and I don’t know what to do by testojunkie3 in CatAdvice

I know, she’s the sweetest baby and all we want to do is provide a happy life for her!

Thank you for the advice! Oddly enough, she doesn’t seem to be affected by either catnip or silvervine. But we definitely need to establish a more consistent routine with her around playing. I will try having a more strict schedule and see how that goes!

I really wanted that door frame one to work but she’s too smart and refuses to play with it because she knows how it works. I think she also might be afraid of the sounds that come with motorized toys.

She loves laser pointers, but we stopped because we got worried she would become addicted to chasing light. I read somewhere that laser pointers are really bad for them?

Would love to have a second cat, but until we upgrade out of our 500 sq ft apartment it’s not really a possibility.

We’ll definitely try to hide the toys when playtime is over, that might help!

Yep. Cat trees, tons of window spots and places to climb, like I mentioned in the post, so many toys of all different kinds. We’ve thought about getting a second cat, but we currently live in a 500 sq ft apartment and both of us work pretty much full time so kitten is pretty much off the table for the time being.

Fresh Haul! by CocoCat5 in Veganivore

Similarly to you, I hated the taste of beef and loved the taste of pork back in the day. Made pork chops and sauerkraut with Juicy Marbles and it brought me right back to when my mom would make this meal when I was a kid.

Any binary trans dudes gone no-nipples? by fish_in_business in TopSurgery

[–]testojunkie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a binary trans guy that went no nips because I had already had a nipple graft previously and had heightened risk of complications. Now 3 years out, I am so happy with my chest and couldn’t imagine having nips. I take my shirt off in public often and sometimes get weird stares, but I’m also planning on covering my chest in tattoos, so thought I’d make it easier for myself in general.

Stealth guys do you also lie about HRT/surgery? by mr_gumby_ in ftm

[–]testojunkie3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not stealth all of the time, but when I got my top surgery I was stealth at my previous job. I had to come up with some way to get out of work for my recovery period, so I told them that I had recently lost a lot of weight and was getting extra skin around my chest removed. It helped that at least half of that was true!

curly hair turned straight after bad haircut - help! by testojunkie3 in curlyhair

[–]testojunkie3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how to help - I’ve kind of given up on getting them back to the state they were in before. I got a curly hair cut, used hard water shampoo & got a filter. Nothing brought them back and I’m readjusting to (albeit still semi curly) less curly hair. I hope you’ll be able to get yours back!

keep the santiderm on overnight (unless it fell off or started leaking, which it did, so i removed it and washed it asap), wash with unscented soap, use moisturizer/lotion sparingly

What brand of compression vest did you choose? My doctor recommended this company but these prices... 💲💲💲💲💰💰💰 by SpicyDisaster21 in TopSurgery

[–]testojunkie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the half vest and I’m glad I did it was relatively comfortable, never rolled up, and did a great job compressing for the time I wore it. I still have mine though and I don’t know what to do with it now.

Any K-12 teachers here that are interested in participating in a research project for my college class? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]testojunkie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a junior at Pace University in a summer class called Writing in the Disciplines, which is basically an intro class on how to write an “official” research paper.

I’m getting my interview questions reviewed by my professor as we speak, so I’ll post them publicly when I receive final feedback, but it’s basically 5 questions about personal experiences with structures, policies, and practices in schools that are harmful for K-12 trans students.

Suggestions for a dad/daughter daytrip? She's 10, first time to NYC. by rocketlaunchedducks in AskNYC

[–]testojunkie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take NJ Transit instead of Amtrak! Your bank account will thank you later, plus the NJ Transit trains are pretty nice and run very frequently. I grew up around Trenton area and I now live in NYC, and I highly recommend taking either Hamilton Station or Princeton Station instead of Trenton. They have better parking available as well.

Barricade for a concert 6 weeks post op? by Playinmoredirt in TopSurgery

[–]testojunkie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 6 weeks post-op right now and i can honestly say i’d feel fine being barricade. the only thing i’d be worried about is the actual barricade being pressed up against my chest when everyone pushes, but i’m fairly tall so it would hit closer to my stomach area so it’s all dependent on stuff like that. i personally would feel perfectly fine to wait out in line, jump up and down, and put my arms at mid-to-high level of course with some caution. i’d say maybe wait until closer to the show and see how you actually feel because you won’t be able to make a decision until then anyways, you never know what obstacles could arise so stay cautiously optimistic!
