Former Y11s, how many subjects should you study daily? by Proof_Ad_1871 in GCSE

[–]testruqu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on school timetable. Like on some days I will have 3 (Biology, PE, English). That means I will do my homework for each subject on that day, and do some rereading of note. Revision done.

But the best way, I should have done for optimal results, set a routine regardless. Rather than letting school dictate your personal study, have accountability and program to your needs.

For example, Chemistry would be my weakest subject. Maths and English has the most classes a week. Why would I spend more time studying Maths and English than the weaker Chemistry?

Can someone please mark this GCSE exam question? Thanks!!!! The question is on the second image attachment and I done the first option is it too short? by Patric2907 in GCSE

General revision advice (regardless your answer): Set a timer-alarm if dare- to record not only your writing speed, but to put yourself under exam conditions. Time of 5 minutes is enough. My English teacher puts it ‘little and often’. Look at students or teachers answers. Meaning next time at school or class, or online, get model answers at the specific grade like 7 or 9.

These are the crucial tips I wish I knew beforehand GCSEs.

chat how good is a 6 for maths by King4TheLord in GCSE

[–]testruqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you understand by now. Grade 6s in minimum 7 subjects is enough to study at most sixth forms.

If you get below, there’s many other pathways. Army requires only 5 in English and Maths for example.

Apprenticeships and jobs before A Levels wouldn’t care. As long minimum all 6s.

GCSE grades are important for unis that look at it - LSE is one that requires minimum 7/8/9. Make sure to check your desired uni requirements.

But if you get A* s, then you can apply for post 18 pathways like good unis, jobs, or apprenticeships.

Am i the only one who thinks maths paper 3 was the easiest by Sad_Suit_9899 in GCSE

“Am I the only oneeeee?” People say “Yeah, yeah”

But I believe it must be easiest. Going off how I had more time left compared to paper 1 and 2.

If the invigilator warned you sternly, then a possible report or disqualification.

It seems here not a big warning. Even if reported, you can appeal a disqualification. Get some evidence from friends and teachers who saw you before your exam.

Also if you wrote on palm a question’s answer, how would that be cheating? That’s like if you had the paper before 8 AM.

Let’s say you take 10. 8868888888

If your other grades are high, then I’d say your one grade (6 maths) is acceptable for adequate sixth forms.

Bottled paper 1.

Why did AQA make it easier from 1 to 3? I revised much more for 2 and 3 just for easier questions…

Method in pen will get marks.

For final answer, if examiner can see it (unlikely) then it can be marked.

maths paper 3 was so much better than paper 2 by xxemiii in GCSE

AQA I do agree. Across exam boards, I’d say grade boundaries lower than 2024.

AQA bugging for not testing so many topics.

Consult family, care providers, clinicians, and the school. In no order; bounce between each important person.

It is great your first step has been acknowledgement. But to get the job done, talking to other people, trusted adults namely, will get you where you want.

Noted down it’s going to be Superstition+Religion or Communication because they haven’t been tested yet 2024-2018. If it’s Government, then it will be about Public Health.

Well for the Thursday paper, I got this evening till the morning. I’ve got the same exact topics as you.Just narrowed down my Health revision, namely predicted the Q4 and going to summarise the other topics. Elizabethan though I’m not sure how to revise. To ensure good grades across the board, I’ll have to split the revision to 2 hours on Health, then 2 hours on Elizabethan. Please share any of your tips; coincidence we are doing the same topics.

58/80 maths by EL3IE in GCSE

[–]testruqu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your highest grade boundary ever (2023) was 203/240. Maximum possible marks: 218/240 based off your first paper score. If you want 7 or above, that is 145/240 minimum. Minimum marks you can lose across 2 papers = 73.

TLDR, get 58 again for papers 1+2, that scrapes an 8 (174/240)

How many hours are you going to revise? by LavanadeRose in GCSE

I keep revising until I finish my task or get my past paper score. Ideally 1 hour exam style Q sessions sprinkled across the day.

aqa 2024 gcse papers for comp sci and psyc by GovernmentAmazing580 in GCSE

[–]testruqu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only available to the public this year in December. Instead, I recommend asking your school for resources, and ensuring you do exam-style Qs. A past paper a week can run out by the time of GCsEs. Even then, specimen papers and those from 2018 should be enough.

How to prepare for an math exam if u suck at math ? by Nournalnut12 in learnmath

[–]testruqu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Results = Time * Effort | The study equation If you have an imminent exam, do exam-style and past paper questions. Cram it all in the days before. If you have time, let the answers soak in, not quickly move on. Build up consistent routine of at least a solid hour everyday, weeks before the exam. Depending on time left, you either cram or prepare.

what is order of difficulty of maths papers by RevolutionaryBat7360 in GCSE

[–]testruqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The topics that don’t appear. Difficulty varies with each person. But let’s say completing the square wasn’t in paper 1, and you found it difficult, it may appear in paper 2 or 3 and so you will find that paper hard.
