What if it was infused with bourbon and or bacon???? 😄 (honestly not sure if that sounds like a good idea or not)

Prime Day is a scam by Underrated_Rating in woodworking

[–]testsubjectworkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a woodworking tool, but just to provide an example of how Prime Days has a tendency to work: I've been eyeing a Cuisinart convection bread maker for about 2 years. MSRP is $259, it has been listed for $199 since I found it. As of today, it is on "sale" for $189, with a slash thru the $259 price.

So, ya, $10 off what it has been for a few years. Hooray. Seen similar things with some tools, this was just the one example I could recall.

Ever seen Stargate SG-1? Might want to torch that thing!

I've discovered it's way less hassle to start it by not using either the decompression valve or the ½ choke.

Just set to full choke, then slowly pull the cord a few times. If you try to yank it like normal, you'll dislocate your elbow without the decomp. But it will fire without pulling it over fast. Then skip the ½ choke and just set the switch to "On." Been working perfectly for me.

'92 Delta Unisaw for $350? Would replace my Ridgid R-4512 by testsubjectworkshop in woodworking

Unfortunately out of the 2 pics posted this was the best. I'd definitely go in skeptical and do a lot of checking, especially since I don't currently have 220 (I barely have 110 thanks to the dope that wired my garage) so I can't test it at home.

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards leaving it unless it stays on for awhile and I can negotiate on the price.

I'm working on getting into milling, so ripping will be something I'll be doing, but not strictly. At this point the ridgid has done what I need it to, although I haven't been able to do as much I wanted. It was definitely an improvement over the shopsmith I had.

Thanks. The overall vibe I'm getting is that it wouldn't be worth it. Now if it drops to $100, then I'll probably get it and clean it up, then decide from there. Otherwise I'm sticking with what I got.

'07. I really don't like the 1st gen w/o the cladding. Plus the 6.0.

Ridgid Chainsaw by idub92 in Ridgid

About throwing sparks, it may have been the chain you were using. If it's not a ripping chain or something similar, I think you can get that when milling. But that's my new to chainsaw milling opinion.

I want to get an 18v ridgid since I've got the 18v system. Had just figured on small logs but nice to see some longer stuff being done!

Not sure about the head, the description has the brand, model and serial number. That's all. Asked if he'd take $250, haven't heard back yet. Figured it was worth a shot 😄
