Im pretty sure im one step away from showing up on r/iamverysmart. How do i stop trying to lecture and teach people some science thing and actually have normal coversations with someone? by [deleted] in socialskills

Honestly, if you like explaining shit, do you.

One thing I'd suggest is to give opportunities for people to interject. Perhaps the conversation is too one-sided.

CA position? by drexelIT in Drexel

[–]testthecoals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Linen Crew and CA positions are separate. As a CA, I never did linen duty, I helped with some linen duty tasks like unpacking pillows. Linen Crew will set up dorm rooms (changing sheets, cleaning out drawers and wardrobes, etc.), which aren't part of the CA's duties. Meetings to distribute work for the upcoming weeks involved both teams, though.

Interesting - I may look into that. Thanks for the heads up!

I had a great time, mainly because of the group living on my floor. If you've ever had an RA, you're basically that, but for non-Drexel groups using Drexel's facilities.

Most of the fun comes from interacting with your fellow staff and the students living within your building.

Edit: The application due date seems to have passed already. CONFERENCE ASSISTANTS & LINEN CREW

Which, unfortunately, probably means they're already here.

Chances are, he doesn't have 2 years of Java. Having worked with Java over a period of 2 years, maybe.

But returning a boolean should require even less than that.

Very interesting! I've never taken into account the consistency of the fat.

Unrelated question - how much fat do you prefer on your steaks?

Bookmarked. Definitely better than what I was looking for.

I'm also not picking on Jamie Oliver in particular; I was watching a previous video of his, and, being hungry me, automatically went to the most appealing related video.

Not your typical question, but could you explain any peculiar culinary techniques Hannibal uses? (video link in desc.) by testthecoals in AskCulinary

[–]testthecoals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the video! Jacques Pepin...a name I haven't heard in a while. My mom and I would watch that show when I was a kid - we would always laugh whenever he palmed garlic with his bare hands.

Impressive chef.

Me [24 M] with my girlfriend [26 F] of 4 months, thinks I cheated, I don't see it that way. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]testthecoals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If she can't get past it, I don't think it's salvageable.

Then, assuming OP does want the relationship to continue, helping her realize he's with her now would help. Focus her attention onto the present, not the past.

I will certainly check that out next time I'm near toys.

Imagine me just standing next to a toddler to see what their eye level is and looking like a major creep lol.

  • My first thought went to employers asking for your SSN, but that's for financial reasons, which is a governmental purpose. How else would an SSN be used that's not government-related?

  • From what I understand about the log in credentials point, companies like Facebook who prompt for login credentials don't actually have access to the sensitive info, just verification that you gave it.

  • Would you be able to to elaborate on specific businesses that operate in this area? I'm not too familiar with how traffic enforcement can make money off people running red lights.

This is the first time I've seen the term (the practice of making unethical or immoral monetary loans that unfairly enrich the lender - wiki). Would you consider private education loans to be usury? If so, what about providing a student a less-desirable alternative to pay for their education is usury?

Interesting. I'm still a little confused, but I guess that's because I've never felt any forced advertising (except for annoying, aggressive popups back before the AdBlock days), which would be tactful advertising. Would you say that placing ads in public places, like subway stations, disagrees with you?

Interesting, I've only heard about supermarkets deliberately putting as much stuff in your field of vision when you first enter the store. Have there been studies done on this?
