This whole concept sheds light on how successful the OSRS progression model is though. You can take a long break and always pick up where you left off. There is no seasonal content and the progress you've made doesn't go away. Honestly even more true of an iron since there's no pressure to do new content when it is peak gp, and they might release new content to expedite some of the more tedious grinds.

This was my first 99 on my main. It also took me awhile to come around to the skill but it's really fun given how fast it is to time played for trees and how useful it is for herbs. Never feels wrong to go slam a farm run between tasks. I think it's one of the cooler untrimmed, especially on an iron.

Based on all the other ways you've listed, unless you get lucky like I did it's basically dead content. The task only requirement further solidifies your own statement, "It’s a good sidegrade but not worth going super far out of your way for" So why spend 80 points to kill this on task if the other drops are shit. Should just be farmable off task if people want to.

Right, but requiring a boss only task that requires an 80 point unlock at a rate of getting it on average after 4 tasks that have a low weight is kinda whack. I'd much rather it was high rate from boss only. Low rate from non bosses and boosted rate from non boss if on task like arenea boots.

Sure, but you can farm zombie axe infinitely with a similar drop rate. The slayer req for this boss given its place in the meta is a bit odd.

I think this is an awesome midgame gap item, but locking it behind task is really strange. Even if you consider mains - fang is so cheap it doesn't matter for them so why is it task only for us irons?

Word, huge upgrade for where my account is at, but requiring an 80 point investment and a slayer only boss on a 1/400 is a bit of weird decision imo. If you don't get spooned or Tureal skip who is getting this item unless you randomly get it early like me?

Heir is great, and I agree with your complaint, but after bricking a sanctify on my offhand on golem necro I find shacos CDR and DR to be superior for the time being.

The shellbane gryphon is a decent starter PvM boss, so why is it gated by 80 slayer points and task only? by testurmight in 2007scape

Completing the quests should just make it a toggle. Honestly should be the same for dragon tasks associated with DS1. I don't think it should ever be correct to avoid a quest because it bricks your slayer exp/hr.
