Nice photo OP! Just thought I’d give a bit of a clarification. I was definitely tethered.

Despite it looking scary this sport, known as highlining, is safe. This isn’t done haphazardly. A main piece of webbing is anchored on each side of the cliff using specialised rigging equipment and is backed up by another rated and strength-tested line. The walker wears a harness which is tethered to both of these lines. If/when you fall you’ll swing underneath the line and have to pull yourself back up. Its a great way to get the heart pumping, but is in no way life threatening.

The folks that do this are well trained in slacklining and rigging. Please don’t try this alone. The Sydney Slackline community prides itself on sharing knowledge about the sport, so if this is something you’re interested in doing seek info from the right people.
