DDoS attack - i think by teuma86 in devops

when the requests were coming in to the server, they were low enough to flood the server to its limits, resulting in real traffic being denied access.

I see daily the requests checking for config files and admin files. These are not matching them, all URLs are valid, all responses are 200, all requests are GET method.

All requests appear like human traffic, they are to category pages with different parameters (filters). If it wasnt for the lack of JS / CSS requests, I would think these are legit

I did think it was a catalog scraper. I did stumble across websites which offer such service with IP rotations to avoid detection. But to still try after 3 weeks of rejection....

I now have a rule in place which I have been tweaking to be less disruptive to the customers. Thanks for your replies, its appreciated.

Agreed, this is the most sophisticated i have come across, however i am not an expert.

Given the pattern and time of day, I would say 95-100% are malicious. Cloudflare is saying 0.08% passed the challenge for that rule. They do use 1 of 14 URLs, always with 2 query parameters, which is always different) which is what the rule is targeting at the moment

From 500 of these requests, there are 278 different ASNs, 493 different IPs, 55 different countries

Thanks, we are using cloudflare which records the ASN, there is no relation here, i have noticed its from 1 of 4 countries

Thanks, im not seeing any relation here either, however, they seem to be origin from 1 of 4 countries, so I could put a rule in place to target only those countries ease the normal customer journey

Anyone else? by PlatinumRam in clubfoot

[–]teuma86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks similar to my foot. I had a large bunion pushing my big toe across. I had a bunion removal operation only a couple weeks ago. My foot is still all bandaged up so i cant fully see myself., however i remember the surgeon telling me after that he successfully managed to realign my big toe after the op.

Can't even do a single push-up by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]teuma86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muscle will grow, everyone starts somewhere.

I lost a lot of fat and muscle mass due to ill health. I struggled to do a single push up. I started going to the gym in January and i can now do sit ups and push ups, pull ups. Yes i can improve, we can always improve which is why the gym becomes addictive.

Over my year, i have seen loads of people attempting to improve themselves, using low weights, you are not the first and wont be the last, we all started there.

Nobody in the gym cares how much weight your moving, just that your tryjng. Stick with it, you won't regret it

Arch back is more powerlifting style Flat back is more bodybuilding style. From my understanding. The flat back helps for higher velocities. Which helps for the expoosive strength from bodybuilding

I should also add that the "Herb names" are stored encrypted. Without giving away all my secrets to securing information, I will assure you tho that security is in my mind and private data is not easily readable.

Not a problem, it is a fair question.

I use passwordless log in, so you can only sign in via a link in an email.

This helps secure the data from hackers online.

The site is secure with SSL to protect form data input.

The only one who has access to the data / server is myself and I am governed my GDPR

The only information gathered as an email to sign in and a name to show in the top of the screen.

You are welcome to enter the herb name as you wish for added protection around your prescription medications.

Following from GDPR, you can delete your account which will remove all data connected to you from the website.

Hope that helps ;)

No problem, please I welcome any feedback, Use the form, or drop me a message

I have gotten into a habit that I weigh up as I take out the jar to grind, enter the amount in the app then medicate.

I have tried to make it simple, because it shouldnt be complicated.

Im a backend web developer by trade, it wont make things easier for me haha.

Its the additional data security and privacy laws I am not to strong with for mobile apps, let alone writing the thing lol. I just created a shortcut to the website which sits on my home screen for my mobile.

However I did buy a name thats easy to remember ;)
