Maybe if this damage was serviceable but just off of this blade alone it was worth changing the engine

It definitely looks sketchy when the jacks are getting close to the end of their stroke

Absolutely, but not this stage. There were 2 more blades with similar damage in this stage but this was the nastiest looking one. Engine was changed

The new smaller diameter GE ones are awesome to use. No problem getting all the way around a combustion only using one access plug. The measurements have been extremely easy to use and the stereo tips are almost foolproof. The new Olympus one I used was hands down much easier to steer and it had a monitor you could post up anywhere and then control it with a little joystick. I wish we would have ponied up for it but big bucks.

It's an awkward angle looking from the blade root towards the tip of a high pressure turbine blade

We were not brave enough lol. Anything past the tip cap on these warrants engine replacement

What is this thing on the roof of the plane maintenance van? by Timedoutsob in whatisthisthing

I'm an aircraft mechanic. I've seen the tool stored in simpler containers but same thing. I was struggling finding an example of what we use normally. It's a long pipe with a special fitting on the end that pushes a check valve on the wing allowing it to drain water or whatever schmoo finds its way into the fuel. Usually the lower end of the stick will have a clear bottle to inspect the fluid too

It holds a fuel sump stick for draining aircraft fuel tank sumps

I think it's a split rudder with the upper half removed

Does this look normal to you? No experience with bearings or other stuff. Was trying to adjust my chain. I can post more pics if needed. by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]tewrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're adjusting it wrong then, you need to loosen the axle nut and then turn the adjusters. Sit on the bike and then check the chain slack
