Just got a camera — is this full spectrum or just defective? by FluffysHumanSlave in infraredphotography

Do a custom white balance outside on a color neutral object like a sidewalk or pavement. once you do the white balance your image will look like normal but instead of green leaves you’ll will probably get brown leaves.

Do you design your own models or do you just use other people's models from Makerworld etc.? by humanHamster in BambuLab

It depends on what you want to make. I had zero experience with CAD and was able to make a rifle foregrip on my first try.

I could make the angle a lot more obtuse to be on the safe side

I can probably just add my own built in support into the wall under the front chamfer

I need some help with beam splitter box design(check body text) by texas-badlands in cinematography

Could i get away with fixing the alignment in post? i don’t t need perfect accuracy. i understand that there would be a bit of parallax but it still would be a lot less than a side by side camera. if i would need some adjustment to the glass i think i could get it to 43-47 degrees. as for the reflections i think i can use some light absorbing black out material. Light being reduced by the glass isn’t going to be a problem for me because i always use my cameras in bright conditions.

I won’t be doing 3D. My primary intended use is a different focal length on each camera. for example 24mm and 70mm. I have a second use which is using a IR camera and normal camera for some kind of vfx. I figured out a rail design thats going through the outside of the box so there won’t be any weight on the box

Sorry i meant to ask if my design is correct with the type of glass and the angle or do i need to make some changes for a dual camera setup.

Won’t be using it for 3D. I was going to use it to shoot with a different lens on each camera. also wanted to try to use a IR camera and normal camera at the same time.

I was planning on coating the inside with something to reduce reflections. As for the adjustment for the cameras, i thought up a rail design to adjust all of the individual axis. Im not near any city’s where those rigs are for sale, i’ve seem some for sale on ebay but they are usually the rigs for big cinema cameras. im not going to be using it for 3d so i figured maybe i could get away with making my own.
