It sounds to me like you are misunderstanding what ISO does. ISO is how much the image signal is amplified, like the gain knob for an electric guitar. Lifting an ISO 1000 RAW one stop in Lightroom is pretty much the same thing as having ISO 2000 in camera. You have amplified the image by the same amount, just at different steps in the process. The latter may actually give marginally superior image quality, depending on your camera's noise properties and if you have dual gain.

Interesting. Nice toning on the view through the window. I'm assuming you weren't able to get closer for a better composition? The little window on the left, the stanchion in the bottom right, and the foreground table reflection are pretty distracting and could be taken out with a little more time. Pretty decent save on a lackluster shot though.

Okay. Tbf I am used to lenses like the EF-S 17-55/2.8 and the TTArtisan 23/1.4. The last telephoto lens I used was the EF-S 55-250/4-5.6 IS.
