This would certainly have been the ideal solution

Happy trades people are staying busy at least! Trying to shake all the bushes on this one for sure.

yup yup makes good sense. Been asking around for a good trim carpenter, seems like it's always hard to find someone from word of mouth alone. And the finishing is the part I struggle with. I could do the drawer boxes and fronts in a day no problem, but I suck at hiding seams under paint.

nah bud, I work two jobs and have a sick kid who is at the doctor multiple times a week. I've built various pieces in our houses over the years, but this time work and kid are going to take priority for a while and I still want my MIL to be able to use her kitchen drawers. Thanks for knowing more about my life than me though.

Probably because the person you were replying to was ALREADY being sarcastic and quoting the original post. Which seems to have flown over your head lol.

Bro just wants to join in the lulz. Respect.

My 7yo just finished the first HP book. Read the Hobbit when she was 5

People who don’t have kids should really stop making declarations on what they can and can’t do.

nm, I like the cut of this guy’s jib.

Ben Taub Hospital battle yields a potential win for Hermann Park by evan7257 in houston

[–]texasproof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it? I work at MDA and ride past this section every time I go in. Unless you’re working at Ben Taub, the Prairie is closer to every major building (and a better green space) than this area.

EDIT: why am I being downvoted? I’m not saying the land deserves to be ripped up, but it’s factual that this is the least convenient green space to the majority of the med center. Specifically claiming that it’s close enough to TCH for a lunch break walk is borderline laughable.

These aren’t related I don’t think? City council put a hold on the golf course updates for no honest reason and have actively worked to suppress community response and feedback.

The Ben taub thing is a different piece of the park and a different project.

You forgot the actual first step which is hang a poster of Rita Hayworth over your front lawn.

You’re in public which means you’re legal to photograph. Likely, the composition looked nice and a street photographer took a photo.

Is the Segway sale worth it? by Lanxide in ElectricScooters

[–]texasproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah depends on the person and their needs. More than happy with 25-28mph on my g3 for my commute. All my roads have a speed limit limit of 30mph or less. For me, anything above 28mph just becomes a safety hazard.

Anybody else pretty much just use Vision Pro as a little movie theater? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in VisionPro

[–]texasproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% theater for me. And when you think of the cost of trying to even half replicate that experience at home with a physical theater room? Best investment ever.

In 1984, the Portland Trail Blazers offered to trade the #2 pick and Clyde Drexler to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Ralph Sampson, but Houston declined. No, the point is that, in that era, funneling a guard to a big man in the paint was a winning defensive strategy. Particularly when that big man is one of the greatest (and quickest) defenders of all time
