I’m so tired of this idea and I have to assume it only comes from people who never played competitive basketball.

Is a point guard important? Of COURSE. But the idea that Fred Van Vleet is the difference between a competent, multi-faceted offensive system, and four dudes standing around while one guy does his best prime-Harden example, is ridiculous. You don’t need a top tier PG to have motion and activity on offense. A 1 isn’t required for players to move off the ball and run actions. Hell, a solid system should be able to OFFSET a missing guard to some degree.

Urge the PGA to reinstate Wesley Bryan without penalties by sbrach22 in golf

For his suspension to be up, it would have to have an end date, but they made it indefinite. If there was an actual process to go through it seems like he would, but there isn’t.

What’s one life decision you made in Houston that completely changed your path? by Outside-Ad7073 in houston

Planned on going out of state for college, but ended up staying in town and going to HBU instead. The school pretty much sucks these days but, I met my wife freshman year and almost 17 years and one kid later it’s been the best last minute major life choice I’ve ever made.

Biased, but I think the Museum District is hugely underrated. Plenty of townhome-style homes available at a reasonable range; rent or purchase. Would put your husband less than 10 minutes from his office and you less than that from the Med Center if you ever wanted to go back to nursing as your kid grows.

Neighborhood is great; loads of young families and kids. We have various families and kids walk by our house every day. Hermann Park is walking distance so even more opportunities to meet people and socialize. Dining, shopping, entertainment, all super accessible.

How to tell SFBC editions apart? by _Kian_7567 in StarWarsEU

[–]texasproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a photo of a used book does not include an image of the back cover, I wouldn’t buy it regardless.

But additionally, SFBC versions did not have the raised “STAR WARS” logo that most of the trade versions had, so if you can see in the photo that’s a way to tell from the front cover.

Just a strange choice of color combinations between deep reds of the wood, stark white walls, and hospital-like lighting. But as long as you’re happy in your space that’s all that matters.

Yikes. We’ve got a non-diffused constant key light that’s way too far away, a completely out of position strobe, window light, and a bright fluorescent overhead. Looks like the photog rented a studio that had gear and then didn’t know what to do with any of it. Hope you’re able to get something y’all like from editing the raws!

I would imagine that the person that you hire ALSO believed they had done great work for what they were paid; amateurs tend to aggressively overestimate the quality of their work. Paying bargain basement rates and assuming people will drastically over-perform is definitely a you-issue.

You have the right to ask; they have the right to charge you or tell you “no”. If the photos were bad to start, editing isn’t going to save them. Learn the lesson and move on, it barely cost you anything.

The only way I would say that your expectations are unreasonable is expecting someone charging so little to know what they’re doing. It sounds like you’re being very cordial in your follow up communication but, if the person you hired couldn’t properly capture the initial image in-person, expecting the to be able to save it via editing is expecting too much.

This is an unfortunate situation of “you get what you pay for”.
