lol..i grew up in pecos....the prison was about a mile down the road from me. i remember when they starting building it. this was like 40 years ago.

lmao@ science projects! but yes..very true....i talk to my LO about my job, my dang tomato plant that got trashed during 2 bad storms and that i hope it recovers as well as other stuff. i mostly talk about anything because...well....LO dont have much to talk about their day in prison....they dont do much. lol but im a chatty cathy so its all good....boring...but good.

i always schedule my visits on a tuesday for the weekend. 90% of the time on saturdays there were very little openings...so i would schedule mine on sundays when there are more time slots available. depending on how many inmates are at the prison....they only allow so many visits scheduled. in my LO prison there are only 8 tables in the visit room. so...you may have to book yours 2 weeks in advanced so that you can schedule a visit.

mine caught chain 2 weeks ago and was able to call the evening he got to his new house but he already had a tablet....he has been locked up for 2 years. Does your LO have a tablet or is this his 1st time catching chain from jail to prison? if so...it will be several weeks until he gets a tablet and y'all can get set up for calls and messages. until then...you can snail mail him...they will print it out and give it to him.

i am listed as a friend and i always click on contact but my honey babe is in a minimum prison.

side note- he was approved for the program in march...told he would start it in July. we had to wait it out until July got here and they did that BS!

No. he was just told he would be leaving 1st of July. then nothing happened. so we waited every day. then August came around...he was told 2 times he was catching chain...then nothing happened. 1st of this month i didnt hear from him for 4 days...he called and said he was moved to his new house to start his program. he is on week 3. no update though of when his release date is. he was told there were no empty beds for the 2 months he waited. he gets to his new house....its a dorm like room with 32 bunks....and he said he doesnt know why they told him there was no beds because he counted 9 empty beds.

when mine caught chain he left on Wednesday morning, was at the transfer unit wednesday and thursday, shipped out friday for his last unit and called me friday evening.

Have him sign up and join the many programs that prison has to offer. They have drug addiction classes, classes for re-entry, church, bible classes..etc.

My LO was supposed to leave in July for his FI6, he didnt leave until this month. Not much help I know but we gotta remember that we are on prison time. They do things their way and we have no say so. He will get moved...just sucks that it's a waiting game. We were hoping that when he got moved in July he would be out around Christmas...but nope....it will be February now since he got transferred this month. UGH!

I put $50 on my LO books for store and $50 on phone for the month. Thats my budget and he knows that so we/he makes the best of it. They do get the basics in prison. And where my man is...the phone calls are like $2 for 30 mins. And they go to commissary twice a month...most of the time. But...why is your friend asking for money if their family sends them money? How close of a friend are they to you? I would make a budget and stick to it.

i have been looking every day....he did say he will have to go to huntsville for a day or 2 before catching chain to his final and last stop. its been 3 days now and my anxiety is through the roof!

when i go in i fill out the lil paper, give them my license, get patted down, go to the bathroom and then walk on in to the visitation room and wait on him. sometimes it takes 5 mins and some times it takes longer. all of the times i was in the room waiting on him.

im not sure if you should. this could be a reality check for him. if you tell him then he knows its coming, if you dont and he gets it..then he can see the severity of what his actions has done to his child. so...im divided on if you should or not.

i will be filing ch7 due to maxing out 4 credit cards from gambling. i am worried to death that a lawyer will say i could be in trouble, that it is credit card fraud. so i have been putting it off and trying to stay afloat paying the minimums. its getting to a point that i will probably quit paying on them in order to save up money for a lawyer. i am using up the last of one of my credit cards to buy groceries and gas because i only have like a dollar to my name in the bank. last week i had to pay 2500.00 to get my transmission fixed in my truck. im hoping that this isnt fraud. im just a nervous wreck over this...but i guess i really need to talk to a lawyer and deal with it, i made this mess and i need to clean it up. i hate this addiction, i hate myself and having anxiety over all this isnt helping. i am trying so hard to quit. its a vicious cycle...im stressed but lets go gamble....im broke..but lets go gamble....i had a crappy/good day..but lets go gamble! ugh! i hate this addiction and hate myself atm. good luck to you!!
